Question Current adoption programs in Latin America?

What are the current countries in Latin America that are successfully involved in international adoption? I am having a hard time researching it because it seems like certain countries have so few children being adopted I can't even tell if they are "open"... Is Peru open? Nicaragua? Panama? Ecuador? I was told Guatemala is a no, yet there are 1000s of posts on their forum about people getting ready to travel, families coming home, etc... Mexico is iffy? Colombia is open, and the wait is 3+ years?.... Any info would be great!!!

I can't answer all the questions. But Guatemala is a no. The only children coming home are ones that were started before the end of 2007. No new adoptions are being started. There is no word on when or if Guatemala will open back up again...

Nicaragua is open and should be moving faster in the next year or so. They are setting up a Family Court and adoptions will be handled there.

Thank you all so much!!! I love hearing advice from families instead of agencies.
