Nicaragua adoptions - questions
My husband and I are thinking about adopting from Nicaragua. I can only find one agency that works with Nicaragua. It's called Adoption Society International. If anyone has worked with them can you please PM me with information - good or bad. Also, if you've worked with another agency, or did it independently, can you please tell me your experience?
Thank you so much |

If you scroll down a few topics you'll find everything you want to know about Nicaragua adoptions. Be advised they now require you to foster the child here in Nicaragua after you've been approved by their govt agency until the court process is complete which can be 2-3 months. So if you can't up and live in another country for that long stop looking at Nicaragua right now. They change procedures quite often and they don't allow agencies to work directly with them. That's why you can't find many agencies. Be wary and ask many questions about what the agency fees include because you are going to have to do most of the work, an attorney in Nicaragua is really all you need.

I second that you only need an attorney in Nica. People here have used different ones, so if you need some names, PM people. I don't think we can post them here.
Nica is a fantastic country to adopt from, with so many kids just waiting in orphanages. We were so happy with our experience, even though it did have its challenges! Most of my last few monts is posted in another thread, if you want to read from a "real time" point of view!! Best of luck! We are here if you have questions! Dawn
