Changes in Mexican Adoption Procedure being reviewed!!

We are currently reviewing, with the aid of Mexican federal level governemental officials, the changes necessary to allow a more open and "user friendly" process for adopting from Mexico. We are working as a team (lawyers, academics,DIF officials) to prepare a summary of the advantages for the Mexican children and society as a whole. This summary is to be presented to President Fox. We are proposing process changes needed to be implemented to allow the licensing of agencies and the formation of a formal governmental level agency to oversee this facilitation. Our report is due in April and I will report back to the forum as developments occur. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

There is a new adoption agency here in Quebec, Canada that is working exclusively in Mexico and kids are being brought home. Why is it working in Canada but not in the USA? We are interested in this agency so any light you can shed on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

My prayers are with your team, I'm currently involved in a private adoption in San Quintin. I was matched with a baby girl of 2 mos and she is now 6 mos and I still don't have a court date. The attys need a little education regarding the bonding occuring with the foster care givers instead of the adoptee family while the process lingers months on end... I suspect that while the child is still in Mexico, certain jobs and their salaries are still being generated to their benefit...
