Question hispanic adoption----

I am asking about hispanic adoption also. We have a niece also who's mother has not wanted this girl. My husband is mexican but has US citizenship now. What would we need to do?

We have one child we adopted privately in the states and have been looking to adopt again. I have spent alot of time contacting different places about adoption.

If anyone has any information, would you please email me at lauriann1964@sio.midco.net

Thank you!
Lauriann

If everyone involved is a US citizen then it doesn't have anything to do with Mexico. Is the girl in Mexico or a Mexican citizen? Or are they all Mexican americans with US citizenship? I've found that nobody ever responds on this board so if I were you I'd try your question in one of the more popular forums. If the girl is indeed a Mexican citizen then you can try the "International Adoption General Issues" board otherwise you can try the "Adoptive Parent > Relative Adoption" forum. Good luck to you!

She has to qualify as an orphan under Mexican law. I e-mailed you with information on an adoption lawyer who specializes in Mexican adoptions. It's not a personal referral, I don't use them or know anyone who uses them, but just a website I found that may be of some help to you. Let us know how it goes! Please come back and post here to share your experiences with others who are insterested in adopting from Mexico!
