Sadly no.....

Our agency lied to us and told us that he was legally free for adoption when in reality, he was not.......

Then we waited 2.5 years for him to be legally free, so that we could adopt him........

now, he is legally free for adoption but the agency no longer has a license from the country of Ecuador. AFter a lengthy conversation with the adoption unit in Ecuador, it is clear that they have no intention of renewing licenses at this time. They are waiting on the US to put the Hague into place.

I have been told that the agency is calling other families to see if they will adopt him, but are failing to mention that they do not have a license from Ecuador to place children.

Wish I had better news but don't............

I found an agency that is accepting applications for Ecuador right now but the available age for the children starts at age 4 then there are also special needs. Email me privately for the link if your interested. Although I have to admit I don't know much about the agency. We are just getting started and I'm looking at Guatemala, Ecuador, and Peru. If anyone has any info. I'd appreciate it.

Hi Mavenmvp,

My husband & I are in Quito, Ecuador right now adopting a sibling group... a 2 yr old sister & a 1 yr old brother. They are absolutely adorable!!

The process here is a little complicated. Everything moved very quickly for us in the States, as the children were totally paper ready. Once we arrived in Ecuador however, things slowed way down. If you are still searching for a country to adopt from... Ecuador is a beautiful place! However, be prepared to stay here a long time... we have been here for almost 6 weeks waiting on the courts. We've been told that we got the most difficult judge, and that is why everything is moving so slowly.

Hope this helps!
~Miranda
