Taiwan orphanges and adoptions
Hi,
Just want every one to know. There are more than three orphanges in Taiwan that deals with international adoptions. The three I know are CSS, Cathwel and St. Lucy. St. Lucy's web site is http://www.stlucycenter.org You can aslo find CSS and Cathwel's web sites using web search engine. I believe Cathwel takes single (female) parent applications but it is a long wait. Peilin ![]() |

Taiwan adoption
Peilin,
I am interested in adopting a baby girl from Taiwan. I have looked at the St. Lucy website, but was unable to find CSS or the other orphanage you mentioned on a web search. My husband and I have eight children and have the room and means for more. Does Taiwan care how many children I already have? Information about Taiwanese adoption is frustratingly limited, so anything you can tell me would be helpful. Thank you. Larry1 |

Taiwan Adoption
My husband and I are interested in adopting from Taiwan. I have talked to Barbara at Open Door and she said you have to be married 2 1/2 years to adopt. And I read on New Hope and Heartsent's websites that you have to be married 5 years. Do you know which one is true? Has anyone adopted from any of these agencies? Would you recommend them? Also, does Taiwan allow adoptiion of 2 unrelated children at the same time? My husband and I want a boy and a girl. Please respond if you know!! Thanks!

It's a little confusing. The country says you must be 20 years older than the child (INS rules) if you are single you must be 25. Then the orphanges have their own rules. Cathwell is probably the one she is talking about if you have been marries less than 5 years. St lucky and CCS I think you have to be married 5 years ( not totally sure). We have been married 3 years and will have been married four for sure and I pray it will be for 5 hits.
I am in the thick of a job hunt. Please pray for me. I really want to start the process. DH and I are lucky we are fine with me not working and are even paying off our debt slowly (thank God we only have a little debt). Right now I am reading everything about Taiwan I can. |
