We have been matched with a beautiful girl!!!
Just wanted to share the news with anyone willing to hear! It has been a long long long journey. BUT as I have read many times, it was meant to be, the wait led us to our daughter.
I am sure the wait for I travel will get harder, esp. when we have the dossier completed. Right now we are too busy with the race to get the paperwork finished to be agonizing over the wait. lol
This community has been the best thing in the world. As mostly a lurker I have read and educated myself since 03. My first thoughts were leaning towards Guatemala, then met some one who had adopted from China. My sister was starting her adoption journey and decided on Korea. She and her husband pursued and completed their adoption while we just started ours. We had made some big payments and started paper work when my mother was diagnosed with cancer. Every thing was put on hold. I stayed with her during her last month. From diagnosis till the end was only 10 months. We talked a lot during that time, we were a very close mother daughter and just got closer. She did not want me to give up on the adoption just because of her. It was just days of the date that I lost mom, 2 years ago, that we were matched with our daughter. She was born shortly after my mother passed away. It was shortly after the loss of my mom that we started pursing adoption again. It took another 2 years to get our match. We changed countries 3 times and are working with our 3rd agency, 4 counting our HS agency. But we are now matched!!! My mother would be soooo happy and proud to be called a grandmother again.
Well I just wanted to share a bit of my story. We are soo happy and in love with our daughter. I will share our story after we bring her home!

Many thanks to all of you for your well wishes. My husband and I are so excited and in love with her. It is so amazing, to have so much time involved with the research, waiting, paperwork and changes in agencies, to go from that mode, to 'We have a daughter!!!" mode is quite a transformation. Now everything has a purpose, everything is leading towards one goal, all are energies are in getting her home!. To have read these boards for all these years, cheering for those who found their child, to now be at this point is AMAZING!!
