I don't have much information, but that's something I'd want to do in the future as well as I have a strong interest in Japanese culture and I am also African American.

The best place to start is the website of the U.S. State Department, which has a good description of how to adopt from Japan. Go to: Intercountry Adoption Japan

The U.S. government requires any single person who adopts from overseas to be at least 25 years old, or permission to bring a child into the U.S. will not be granted. Married people do not face the same rule. Japan, as I understand it, also sets 25 as the minimum age.

Talking thanks for your responses

Thanks guys, for your responses, i thought 25 was the age. Looks like I'll have to wait alittle while. But the best things in life are worth it!! Anyone know how to stay productive during the adoption wait?
