Journalist seeking couples who've had to look elsewhere because of new China rules

Greetings,
Brandy gave the go-ahead for this posting. I'm a freelance journalist based in Bangkok, and I'm writing an article for the Asian Wall Street Journal about other countries in Asia that are open to international adoptions, now that China is enacting tougher rules.

I'm hoping to get in touch with couples/singles who had hoped to adopt in China, but are looking elsewhere in Asia. I'd like to talk to other expats living in Asia, but would be happy to talk to anyone who fits that profile.

Briefly, the idea for this article came about because my husband and I had just started the adoption process when the new rules in China were announced. Because my husband has been divorced and we've only been married for two years, our adoption agency told us that we'd be knocked off the list. After years of wanting to adopt in China, we were pretty upset by the whole experience. But I also realized that my research into other countries in Asia that are open to international adoption would be useful to others.

Also, because I have a huge personal stake in this article, I would be extremely respectful of others.

Please contact me directly at jennchen73@gmail.com if you would like to share your story.

Cheers,
Jennifer

You might want to post this on the Vietnam board. A lot of people seem to have jumped over to there because of the new restrictions.

I've seen people switching to Vietnam, South Korea, Ethiopia and South Africa, because of waiting times and not being able to fill the new requirements in China. I agree that you should try those boards...

Still joining the China board as I spent 3 years waiting for the age limit in China before we decided to switch countries because of the wait times
