OT birthday treats
Okay I will start this by saying yes I know I'm being pety , but I really need some help. My son's fourth birthday is on Wednesday and he has to take ia treat for school I need help coming up with some super spectacular treat to take to preschool. I only need 13 so that's not too many to make but I need something out of this world phenomenal
Here is the petty part most of the kids come from two parents stay at home mom or stay-at-home dad families and I am a single parent with six kids and I need to show them that we can do cool treats too Thanks in advance for your help in feeding my insanity Did I mention I'm painting my kitchen and we're getting a puppy on Wednesday147 valentines, 2 sets of twins with birthdays in a 3 day period...a little crazy here

We had a party with my Sunday school class over the weekend, and one of my friends made rice krispie treats, but she cut them in the shape of a heart, dipped one edge in chocolate, and then rolled them in sprinkles once the chocolate had hardened. Maybe you could do something similar? Would that be enough?? Obviously not a heart since it will be past Valentine's, but you could use just about any cookie cutter shape.

Something similar to the PP is this.
Take a marshmallow, dip in chocolate and then in sprinkles. They are cheap and easy to do, but look fantastic. You can use a popsicle stick to make them look like a sucker. ![]()

One of my son's favorites is very simple. Just buy flat bottomed ice cream cones and place them in a muffin tin, fill 3/4 up with cupcake batter. Bake, ice and decorate (or even more fun, let the kids dip them in various things).
They are fun, different and easy to eat. Transporting them is a little bit challenging but you can either do it in the muffin tins or cut holes in a box. Good luck! |

Thanks for the ideas!!!!
We have done the ice cream cupcakes in the past. M is using that on Friday for his birthday treat. I think we may use the rice krispy treats and cut them out like Zebras and "stripe" them with chocolate.......The letter of the week is Z - which is also how our last name starts. Last session we did the blue finger jello with 'floating' swedish/gummy fish......

Haha I just ordered cupcakes at the bakery. The kids don't know better and the moms won't be there to see it! And I'm a (lazy) stay at home mom.
Don't drive yourself nuts over this. The mom competition at preschool can drive you nuts at times. |

Hello??? Mom competition at preschool is mandatory. The rice crispie treats in the shape of Z might work but shaped rice crispie treats are way harder than they look. If you check my Pinterest you might find some good ideas. Here are a few I pulled up that would be doable.
Food Ideas / Halloween Treat Bags & Boxes: Witch Foot Goody Tube Fortune cookies. Homemade. With any message you want. You could even proclaim your greatness. Food Ideas / Really must try this! Food Ideas / Apple slices with the cores removed using mini cookie cutters. How cute! Brilliant and easy butterfly snack Food Ideas / Butterfly Snack! Food Ideas / This makes me excited to eat fruit I think I would line these with melted chocolate to protect the cones first. Or make them as tacos in a sugar cookie with a yogery dip. Food Ideas / Orange JELLO slices: just cut your oranges in half, scoop out the fruit, mix up the jello, and pour it into the hollowed halves to set. Once set, slice them up. To really dress up those apple slices, put cinnamon in a salt shaker with large holes, and shake lightly onto the slices.
In the winter I do this, after slicing the apples with an apple slicer, put them in a stainless pan with cinnamon on every layer, and cook for about 5-10 minutes. Serve when soft. Kids love them both ways! Great healthy snack, very tasty. |
