Let the craziness begin-tax return

So, we completed another adoption this year and we filed our taxes about two weeks ago. I am wondering if anyone remembers how long it took last year for a mailed return to show up on the IRS site "Where's my refund". I know they received it about 10 days ago, we sent it priority so we would know that it arrived. I just can't remember how long it took last year for the IRS to acknowledge receipt. I am all in a dither already about how long it's going to take , I still have nightmares about last year.LOL
Thanks in advance if anyone can remember.

I think mine took about 4 weeks from when they received it for it to show up. Of course I checked every single day!

Last year we submitted in early February and didn't receive the full return until July. The non-adoption credit portion came back in April, but they had to examine all of our documents, which took a long time for them. We had to send copies of our adoption documents a second time. This year, our tax preparer warned us to only send copies, since originals don't come back (which is true).

Also, she told us that two of her clients were still waiting for their tax returns. The good news is that at some point, you do start getting interest on your return...

We're still waiting for last year's! Dh took too long and had to file an extension, then sent the paperwork, they wanted all the adoption papers again (even though we filed the credit originally 2 years ago), and now it's been over a month since he sent all the paperwork and we're still waiting... it's a big refund too so it's getting really old!
