OT: The Funny Things Kids Do

I thought a fun thread would be good. Tell us about a funny thing your child(ren) did.

Yesterday while at one sons' preschool my other son (both 4) had to go potty. They have the urinals that are about 4 ft high and go clear down to the floor. My older son went over, dropped his drawers around his ankles and proceeded to pee - right back between his legs, all over his unnies and onto the floor behind him!! I've never seen a little boy abe to pee behind them while standing. I just stood there and laughed.

Yesterday I was reminding my son (for the 10th time) to get all of his homework in his backpack so we could leave. He gave me a look I really didn't appreciate. I asked him 'why are you looking so angry?" He said, "Mom, that's not me looking angry, that's me looking annoyed!". I admit, I had to laugh at that one!!!

When my dd lost her first tooth a few months ago, it was a lot of work. She tried to pull it, and her sister tried to help. Finally her daddy pulled it for her. All of this was because she was so eager to have it out.

The second tooth wasn't nearly as exciting so she pretty much ignored it. It surprised her and just fell out one day last week. She said, "That was easy!"

My son loves to yank his teeth out after seeing Toothfairy last weekend. He has managed to get two out in less than a week. I caught him with tweezers last night dugging under the slightly lose tooth remaining in his mouth.

The kids that crack me up are the ones who don't believe in Santa but the Toothe Fairy . . . . Now she is REAL!

Story on the Queen, the other day she dressed herself, (age 4) came all the way downstairs and said "Mommy, I'm stuck." I looked down to see both legs in one pant leg. Reminded me of Morticia Adams. She had the same walk & everything.

My child loves to look pretty.

I had fixed her up for church last weekend and she wanted to see herself in the mirror....so I said, look at you so cute.

L then says..."oooohhhh wow! no mami, I beautiful!" all the while batting her eyes....

um ok girl....glad to know your self-esteem is intact.

D dresses himself too. I started wondering yesterday if it makes me look like a bad mother when my child goes to school every day with his underwear on backwards. He always does this and when I ask him to turn them around he says, "But, why?" (Because it's uncomfortable, maybe?) He came home from school with his underwear and his pants on backwards, his socks missing and his shoes on the wrong feet. I looked at him and thought, "I'm really glad we don't have to stop anywhere on the way home!"

The other day my youngest was playing with the door knob to the basement door- which she cannot get open. The 3 year old was yelling at her. So:
Me: please stop yelling at your sister. Whose job is that?
Curly: it's yours mommy
.........2 min later and she is at my side while I am washing dishes (as the baby continues to fiddle with the door knob)...
Curly: well are you going to do your job or what?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

My nearly 3 year old is the same way! He always puts his underwear on backwards - and he finally told me it's because he likes the pictures where he can see them (he wears character underwear and there's no picture on the front!).

One of my sons has trouble getting his unnies on frontwards too. I took a tip from one of my sisters who went through this with her daughter. Using a permanent marker put a dot on the inside of the front band. Tell them to match the 'button' with their 'button' (belly button). Works very well.

Same son has trouble getting his jeans (elastic waist) on right too. I sewed a line of bright red on the center front. Problem solved.

For socks, I get the kind with a heel of a different color than the rest. He knows the color goes on the bottom. This one is still a work in progress as he twists them as he puts them on. The shorter the top, the less likely he gets them on wrong though.

It was foggy here this morning when the Queen (age 4) says: "Ouch! I got a cloud in my eye!"

My 15 month old has learned to wink. He winks at all the girls he sees (and most guys, too.)

Yesterday, he got angry and threw a toy. I got on his level and said, "look in my eyes." I was preparing to tell him NO with his full attention on me. He looked at my eyes, then winked at me and grinned. Yeah. Like I could be mad. Starting early!!

DS was sitting in a chair watching a cartoon, when i noticed that he had to go potty. I reminded him to go and he looks at me and tells me "But mom my penis does not need to go..!" 2 minutes later it is a sprint to the bathroom, he comes out and says, guess my penis was wrong.
