Ok just trying to find out how a person would go about finding out info on adoption papers. My husband and his ex wife were in the process of fostering to adopt 2 children when they divorced. The courts let the adoption proceed. Well when it was finalized my husband was unable to get off work to go to the hearing of the final adoption. How would I go about finding out who signed the final papers because he wasn't in the court room and says he never signed anything. He was here at work in one county and the adoption proceedings were finalized in neighboring county. Just curious how we could find out this info.

I would try calling the clerk of the court in that county where it was finalized. That is who we called when we needed an extra copy of our decree. And we didn't have to sign anything after finalization - just before. Your husband will have to do it, though - I doubt they will tell you anything since you aren't named on the decree. And he may have to go there in person and show ID - that is what I had to do.
If that doesn't work, he could also try calling the social worker and/or lawyer who were involved in the case.

We finalized over the telephone and signed NOTHING during or after finalization. All paperwork was signed prior to the final hearing.

But that is just it I don't think he signed anything... Could be that her husband at the time signed them because all the proceedings were in this county then at the last moment the local social worker that was working on it disagreed with something the mother was doing so for some reason they moved it to another county
