What do you think about this one?

A cousin sent me a link to a site that had Halo brand sleepsak for $2.99 . Ok, thats cool but since I had never heard of the site I clicked on the "what is kidswoot" link. The first faq and answer caught my eye. Now, I'm not one to get annoyed at the "common man" and his uneducated beliefs on adoption, but corporations have teams of people and departments to ensure they're speaking smartly. And in reading the whole site I get that they're trying really hard to be witty, funny, snarky and "blog-ish" in their writings and style.

My take, I think that money can play a large role for those in "power" in hollywood who seem to buy and sell everything they desire, even children maybe. BUT this faq on this site made me cringe a wee bit for all of the average joes and "common consumers" who will read and continue to think that adoption is buying a baby.

That's the issue I have with it. What about you? (and hey, if nothing else...Halo Sleep saks that are normally 19.99 are only 2.99)

Binky, I am offended...but because the blog is so annoying...and worse, not funny!

I am really, really sick of blogs. Seriously. Everyone is trying to be so hip and different. And to be honest, I think blog writers "create" things in their lives so they have more interesting blogs. Blech! Maybe I'm jealous because my blog would be so boring.

LOL. I can't stand blogs either (not talking about families connecting and sharing pictures...talking about the nonsense of people inflating and exagerating via humor and crassness to be "followed" and liked by who ever. Never needed that kind of fawn all over false adoration personally, so I don't get it.)

That first line in the FAQ just made me say "ick"..."even then you have to go pick it up in person" Buy a baby and then to be inconvinienced by the lack of shipping and handling. yeah, that's funny stuff.

I found the whole site icky. I didn't like the adoption comment, but also didn't appreciate the stereotype of non-parents being full of "self-centered drama."

It seems they are trying way too hard to write in some hip/cool style but it's not working at all for me.

I couldn't read the whole thing because my drama filled life intervened.... no wait, no drama here, but that was really crappy and not all that funny.

LOL! Now THAT was funny!

I found it annoying and while I typically enjoy sarcasm and tongue in cheek writing, it HAS to be funny. That wasn't funny. I mean how old is the hollywood baby over seas joke now, kwim? You'd think they could at least be more creative.

I agree...not with the your blog would be boring thing....but with the fact that people lie to look better.

Me? Well first I would need a secretery to clean it up...then I would look at the screen and know I had nothing great or intersting to blog about?!

I think this blof was "icky" too...but in terms of the teams to decide the proper language? NAAA...if they can make money they will say anything. (boy, have Igotten cynical)...and really many ihn the general public will find nothing wrong with it.

I love all the woot sites...especially woot wine, great deals. But this just isn't all that funny. I wasn't offended, just didn't think it was amusing. The jokes about celebrities buying babies are getting a bit stale.
