OT--Where are all the clothes?

I have been searching for weeks trying to find winter clothes for S because she has shot up and the winter clothes I bought last year on sale at the end of the season don't fit. That's what I get for trying to buy ahead. She's in 18m and I just can't find them. I've checked the resale/consignment shops around us because I try to be conservative with our money, no luck. We went to the mall last night and I had to ask people to search in the back and still only found 2 shirts and 1 dress for my little girl. Crazy!

Anyone else having a hard time?

The m/c's, the infertility, the waiting, the failed matches, it has all been worth it to have our beautiful baby S. She was meant to be ours we just had to wait for her to come along!

I'm guessing it's because of where we live, but there is no shortage of winter clothes out in MN right now!

Check old navy and gap online. Although, the last time I was in old navy there really were not clothes I would consider winter appropriate for a toddler. Also, check Walmart. They had some pretty sute warm clothes last week in toddler sizes.

I am in FL and I just came home from babiesrus with several bags and a lighter wallet. The little red sweater, white turtleneck and plaid skirt is soooo cute!!

Online is often a safe bet if you want to be sure that they'll have your size... I remember going to stores and I swear they had everything I wanted in every size but the one I wanted... and it's true that consignment sales are hit and miss. I went to three this year and didn't find as much stuff as I wanted.

You can check ebay though! I've been buying a few things there for when my kids outgrow their current clothes. I refuse to pay more than $2-3 per shirt and $4 per pants and I've still managed to win a few things (I include shipping in my calculations so it's cheaper to buy lots). Or I go to Target and Kohl's and check the $5 shirts/pants racks. I'm cheap.

Target has had winter stuff out for months (good thing I guess because we already have 2 feet of snow). I like the mix and match sweatsuits since DD is much longer in the torso and short legs, I can buy 2 different sizes.

I always buy things a little big to make sure they at least get through the season. Pants you can either roll up the legs or just fold over the elastic waist. I always roll up the sleeves anyway to keep them out of art projects at school. I'm finding now that she's 2 1/2 a lot of clothes get worn out (too many potty accidents, markers, play dough etc) so there's not much selection in the thrift stores.
