O/T TVT surgery!!!
My sister had the surgery done on September 10th and didn't feel right on the 11th, so she contacted the surgeon who told her to wait and see for a few days...fair enough.
A few days later, she felt miserable and knew there was something wrong. He sent her to another doctor who did a cysto. He told her the mesh had ruptured into her urethra and it had to be reversed and must be done within two weeks of having it placed. He would not do the surgery and told her the original surgeon would have to do a consult with someone to reverse it. As it turned out, he was gone to South Africa, so he couldn't do anything, so her family doc referred her to someone else 4 hours away.
She went for another surgery today, but the surgeon there could not complete it. I guess he doesn't feel he can do it, so he is referring her to yet another surgeon. She has to come home and wait for a new call.
So, my question is, has anyone had this done and had it reversed so late? Being 6 weeks later, I'm sure it's well embedded now. I'm so worried about her. We've been told of people actually living with a catheter because of failure.
