What was your baby's first word?
Frank said "ady" a few days ago and yesterday he said "dada". Not a "mama" in sight. lol

My oldest spoke his first word at 9 months...."Oogie". I had no idea where it came from.
I told my sister about it, and she laughed so hard....then she spilled her guts. lol She told me that while she babysat him one day, his pacifier fell out, and she gave it back to him, but she wanted a better name than "sookie", so she called it an "Oogie". He is almost 12, and he still calls them "Oogies". lol

The first "word" my daughter said was Dada which is funny since we are a two mom family. I read that those are just sounds they can make before the Mama sounds so no worries.

My oldest first spoke at 6 months - her first word was "cat." Her 2nd word was "Mama" and she said it the day before my birthday when she was 7 months old.
My youngest is from Guatemala. She didn't really speak when she came home. Her first word was "Dada" at about 13 months of age. |

His first word was "hey!" He would yell that at you if he didn't like what you were doing. For instance, if you put him in the pack-in-play he would yell "Hey!"

LOL! Cute! David's first word was "shoes." Followed by "go" and "dada." (Which for him meant, doggy not daddy.) We're a two mom family, too and we waited a long time to hear "mama!" First, he wanted to tell us the most important thing. "Take me out somewhere. Let's go!" |

"Shoes" was one of my DD's first words for the same reason. She is very busy! Right now I'm trying to figure out what she means when she says "oggie". Sometimes it's the dog, sometimes it's dad, and sometimes, who knows?
