no, but it's a great question...I think I'd like to give something small to our PT too..hmm...Maybe I'll bake some bread and buy some jam at the local farm...something easy like that...

I think it would be similar to the gifts people give their child's teacher. My favorite gifts were always pictures of the child - like a small framed photo or an ornament with the child's picture. I have a number of pictures of former students around my house and I really enjoy looking at them. Little child made gifts were great too, although I know your little one may be young for that. Treats like Aclee mentioned are also great. I love coffee and chocolate so parents often gave me those things. I admit that stuffed animals and tchotchke usually end up finding other homes. There are only so many coffee mugs and figurines a person can keep!

I always like doing tea assortments... not necessarily herbals because you need to really like some of those to drink them...but flavored teas like french vanilla, chai blends, or dessert teas.
I'll grab a bunch of celestials or bigelow's when they're on sale and then add honey straws, some nicer tea biscuts or cookies to make it cute in a gift bag or basket. Pretty easy but people always like it! ![]()

Last year this is what we did for therapists:
I went to Target and bought the plastic popcorm containers form the dollar area. (They are the kind that look like a popcorn container from a theater.) Then I went to the video store a got a gift card with the amount for one new release rental. I added 2 bags of popcorn and a candy bar then wrapped them in cellophane. We always have a ton of popcorn, so I did not really factor that in for the cost, so it was the conatiner, gift card, and candy bar. It ended up costing me about $5 and I got tons of compliments on them!

For "adult friends" we have:
-baked -picked out a treat from a catalog like oriental trading where items are little silly and the highest price is 12 for $12 - the holiday rubber duckies were a huge hit and have stayed on a few desks all year -bought those wooden ornaments you color yourself (actually, last year when they were on clearance) so I don't have to come up with crafts for him the whole month of October and he can do something Christmas-y (which he wants to do) without us decorating the house (which my husband doesn't want to do) We have a lot of people in this category so we try to go with a bulk option ![]() |

As a therapist that works with kids, I love getting toys, doll figures, therapy tools, etc. There's a great on=line store that has a lot of theraputic stuff called The Self-Esteem Shop". If you call them they are glad to suggest things. Tell them I sent you....

OK, I am the queen of boring gifts, but what about post-its, paperclips, highlighters? Those are usually a hit. Also, now that it's getting cold, lotions are always in need as therapists wash their hands 100x a day. Bath and Body works lotions get used up pretty quick in the schools where I am...
Of course food is always good. Always. Natalie |
