OT: Seasonal Flu, H1N1 shot protocol for infants! Help!

This is the deal. We have decided to vaccinate- so I don't want to debate this...but I'm so confused!

We have infants:

Regular well baby vaccines- check!

Started seasonal flu vaccine, due for 2nd booster next week.

H1N1 vaccines are ready now...and they are given in 2 rounds.

We've been told to wait 3 weeks between shots...

So I'm in a pickle!

Do we take the H1N1 round 1 now and wait 3 weeks for the second round of seasonal to be double covered?

OR do we do second seasonal booster, wait 3 weeks for H1N1?

I ask as the Swine Flu has hit our community HARD!

I can't seem to get an ANSWER!

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Have you called your pediatrician's office to ask them?

Are your children OVER 6 months. If not YOU should be vaccinated, not them.

Yes, they are over 6 months. We also have a school age child who is a walking germ factory! The ped's office said we could do both at the same time, and then backed up and said to wait between shots. I'll be honest the swine flu makes me more nervous-as it is hitting healthy kids! I have a call in today to discuss more with the dr.- The clinics are just overwhelmed with illness and the schools are just super high with absenteeism. My husband travels frequently and is exposed to lots of stuff...We ourselves feel OK to vaccinate, it's the kids that really make me pause!

I'm in the same boat. To add to the planning fun I have 2 with asthma and one keeps flaring up. I want to have him vaccinated, but I will not have it done while he has a cold or is on steriods (which has been every other week lately) I am planning to get them done in whatever order works out time wise, but I also don't want them done at the same time. I'm interested to hear what your doctor says.

My pediatrician just told me to wait at least one week after his season shot before getting the H1N1 for DS. She said that will give him plenty of time to build antibodies from the seasonal flu shot and get ready to build more from the H1N1. He's 18 months old.
