OT: Movers

I was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for movers? We live in the DC Metro area, but there may be some national companies that someone could suggest. We're moving my parents from their apartment to a new place at the end of the month.

Thanks!

We're moving to SF in 2 weeks (YAY ) and we are using Flat Rate Movers. We used them before when we moved to NYC and they were AMAZING. We are also shipping cars too if you need that info.

Opposite of a recomendation but DO NOT use Two Men & A Truck (i think they'rea national company...) we used them for htis move & they were AWFUL!! Good luck with the move.

Supa- yay on your upcoming move!! Did you guys get your house sold? I can't wait to hear how great San Fran is. We have a cousin that lives there & he said it's the best place to live!

Ditto this. I also had a bad experience with them.

Agree on the anti-recommendation for Two Men & a Truck. We used them *once* and never again. The guys showed up and began trying to convince us to CANCEL our move with the company and then just pay them cash under the table to do the move anyway.

We've used emove (I think they are now MovingHelp.com) several times and had very good results. They have reviews of all the companies they work with on the site, so you can get a very good feel for it before you make a decision. (We've only used them for load/unload though, since DH's company provides the moving truck for when they transfer him.)
