Welcome to my world...Daddy!

So for years and years my dh has been an over the road trucker, home for just a few days a month. Just enough to make his prescence known then would have to go. Joshie, always happy to see "daddy", was usually on his best behavior during these days of daddy at home.

So now Daddy is changing careers, hoping to get a full time night shift position as a nurse aide. Daddy has been home a week now and Joshie is showing his true colors. Bradley and I have been doing what we always do and taking care of Joshie/switching off. Finally, dh decided to flip out and asked me how in the world I can be so calm when Joshie is screaming bloody murd er and literally wrecking the house. I just smile and say over and over: "Welcome to my world"

He now gets to see that all those times he was gone, that I am super mom and get things done, kiss boo boo's, talk softly, nary raise a voice, and voila, things DO get done!!!! I'm glad dh is seeing this though; he may never take me for granted again!

Blessings, Michelle

HAHAHA!!!

After 15 years, my DH went from midnights to a day/afternoon type shift.

He is responsible for getting our angels off to school in the morning.

Let's just say that in a week and a half, he's had to come home for forgotten lunches, library books, etc.

He's ready to hit the skids...

Not so easy, is it?!?

I love it when reality smacks them in the face. I love my dh, but he does not appreciate what I do on a daily basis with our kids. It's wonderful when the shoe is on the other foot, so to speak. Our worth goes up very quickly!!!

I'm back at work after three years of being home with TJ. DH now takes him to preschool MWF and takes every Tuesday off to stay home with him (own our own business so he can do that)! Anyhoo, it's great. Well, I'd rather be home but he finally sees that I didn't sit around all day watching TV. Oh, and tomorrow he has to go to his dad's and he's taking TJ and they are SPENDING THE NIGHT. WOOHOO, a night on the couch with the remote. Geez, life is good

My DH gets W all to himself every other Saturday and Sunday when I am at work. When I'm home with W I can still clean the house, get laundry done, take W out to the zoo or the park or something fun. When I come home from work on my weekends to work, DH and W are still in PJs, the house is a wreck, there are dirty dishes in the sink and DH looks shell shocked. DH tells me every Sunday night how much he admires me for being such a good wife and mother. I love being appreciated.

It keeps getting better and better. Tonight was the "Who is going to change the next poopy diaper?" Bradley recounted that he had changed a big poopy on Monday. Dh tried to say which day over the weekend he had....I of course had the best one a la mode....I not only changed a huge poopy/wet one last night, but bathed him afterwards, made sure his teeth were brushed, put clean jammies on him, AND put him to bed, complete with the Good Night song and everything.

Dh, beaten at his own game, picked Joshie up and trudged towards the diapers/wipes...HA HA...Gotcha, Daddy!!!!!!!

Blessings, Michelle
