This is freaky/spooky/eerie/disturbing

So 2 nights ago I was asleep with the baby monitor on as usual and something startled me awake around 3-4am. It was Joshie talking in the monitor. This is what I could make out of his conversation with ????

"Hi! What are you doing here? It is night night sleepy time. Ssssh...you will wake mommy up! I want to go back to sleep now. Bye bye!"

Then silence. I don't know if he was talking in his sleep or what. I'm really freaked out now!

Blessings, Michelle

Liana is talking in her sleep more and more. She says very odd stuff. Most of the talking is associated with her night terrors, but not all of it.

The other night she stood straight up in bed and said "Mommy! Come over here and look at this!" in her most charming, charismatic voice. I was right there in bed next to her, so I gently put her head back on her pillow, and she was OUT.

I am guessing he is talking in his sleep.

I actually went and checked on Brad b/c I thought maybe he was the culprit, but he was sound asleep. I could see into Joshie's room and it was dark except for his night light and he was softly snoring. Stuff like that just freaks me right out!

Babies and young children 'see' angels. The theory is that they haven't been here as long so they are more open to their visits. Perhaps he was talking with an old friend.

When my lil sis was about 3, my mom heard her in her room talking, she thought it was me so she called my name and it woke me up so me & my mom went into my sis's room and she was sitting up in bed talking, she looked over at my mom and asked "Mommy who is that man in the corner?" my mom flipped on the lights so fast it was crazy... of course no one was there, my mom searched the whole house. My sis just laid back down and was instantly right asleep... lol still creeps me out thinking about it !

When I was little (well until I was an adolescent and occasionally now as an adult) I talked in my sleep. I would have full conversations with people that were really there and I would have conversations about people I was dreaming were there. Both sounded very real but in all cases I was still sound asleep. I would know that it was late or know that it was quiet time so I would say things like "have to keep it quiet" too.

I wouldn't read too much into it. Except to watch him for any signs of sleep walking as he grows (not sure how old he is.) Studies have shown that people that talk in their sleep are much more likely to sleepwalk too.

Sparkle had big issues with nightmares and sleepwalking when she first came into our home. It was scary at first, but then we had some funny moments too.

One night, she came into the living room after going to bed, pillow in hand. Eyes wide open and everything. She handed her pillow to me and asked how old it was. Hubby and I looked at each other and when I turned back to her, she'd pulled her pillow out of the case, and was looking at the tag.

I got up and asked her if she wanted me to tuck her in again. She turned around and marched back to bed, picked up the covers and was snoring in less than 10 seconds.

The next morning we had a good laugh.

We figured out later that her sleepwalking was caused by medication and switched it as soon as we figured it out. She still talks in her sleep quite a bit, but we haven't had sleepwalking in at least 4 of 5 months.

I have a roommate who is a VERY active sleepwalk/talker. I lock my door at night so he doesn't come in - just in case!

But I can sometimes hear him talking through our walls! Or I'll come home late and hear him talking and think that he has someone over - nope! Just talking away in his sleep!!!

Long Board (my bf) talks in his sleep once in a while too. It only annoys me when I think he's awake and I respond to him! haha

Sleeptalking tends to creep me out a little - but I'm getting a little more used to it!

I used to carry on complete conversations with Kiddo's first dad in his sleep. It was nuts. Some of the conversations made sense some didn't.

5-30-2009 Kiddo turns five. It is hard to believe he is that old already, it seems like just yesterday he was being born. I was at peace for the first time on his birthday, what a nice feeling.
6-13&14 2009 A cannon live fire in Casper WY. We got third place and I got to see Devil's Tower for the first time, it was pretty awesome.
7-4-2009 Amelia the kitten comes to live with me and Liz. Talk about jealousy, Liz will adjust though.

I'd tend to think more on the sides of Withay. I've read stories and such of young children who are able to 'communicate' with angels, etc. I have and have had children of young age who had night terrors and talked a lot in their sleep...but never any who had full-fledged conversations with someone other than us.

I'd be freaked out too. I'd still use that monitor all the time....did you happen to ask him anything about it the next morning, or, ask him if he'd been talking to someone and who it might have been?

Sincerely,

Linny

Michelle - Didn't you think you were having some ghostly activity in your home about a year ago or so? Or am I thinking of someone else?

The possibility of angels is an intriguing one. (Thanks, Withay, for bringing that up!) I like to think that all children have guardian angels watching over them.

My adult son used to talk a lot in his sleep. Perhaps he was talking to Brad in his sleep?!? This could occur if he was half asleep and his eyes opened to see an object in the shadows that looked to him like Brad.
In any event, it doesn't sound as if he was scared of the "culprit", so in Joshie's mind it was someone to he trusts.
BTW, I do believe in guardian angels, and that younger toddlers can see them. After all, it was only a while ago that they, themselves, were hanging out with the angels before being born.....but that's my own theory.
