Is this a sign?
Hi there,
It's been a while since I've been around. We had two failed matches over the last year and I've just been healing from that and we pretty much determined to get licensed to become foster parents sometime in the near future. (Long sentence) Anyhow, so I was just sitting on my pc thinking about the last match that failed (which I haven't done in a while because I don't like to dwell on the negative side of things) when, instantly I received an email from TARE. I NEVER EVER receive emails from them. And it was about a child who matched our criteria, a criteria we sent them probably last December. I am still in shock. We've let our home study lapse now... but I honestly think this is some sort of sign. I really just want to know what others think, is it a sign? Does it mean we should try to adopt that child or just start the home study process again and try to foster? I wonder if we're supposed to adopt that child... Of course maybe this is just something new that TARE is doing, and I'll start receiving many more "matches". |

I am one to look upon this as a sign! A very positive sign!! DD's adoption was all so serendipitous that I believe in these silly things. Best of luck to you!!

Nice to see you back, Dawn!
I think it's def. a sign to renew your homestudy...As for whether or not it's a sign for this particular child...well, how does it FEEL to you? I wish you luck on whichever path you choose! |

I think it's a sign. I am hoping to hear from others who support my feelings, as I already have a husband who will tell me it's not a sign.

I would try.
How will you feel if you ignore this? Will you regret not contacting them for the rest of your life?

I'd see it as a sign...at least in this way:
1. Get your homestudy updated. 2. Contact TARE and ask further about this child. If more facts would show you wouldn't really be interested in this child, then you can ALWAYS say 'no, thank you'. But, it can only be a positive thing to go ahead and update the homestudy AND check on this possible 'match' with TARE. JMO... Sincerely, Linny |
