Adoption Diaries On We Sept 12
I am not sure if this has been posted.. I just say the advertisment today.. I can not wait.. I have already tivo driving to the store for boxes of tissue.. The series premier Septemer 12 on WE from 10e/9c pm.

02/08: decided to adopt- researching which avenue to pursue!! 4/08: application submitted with agency  6/25/08 - officially waiting 6/28/08 - Matched!! 6/28/08 - it's a girl!! She's born!!  6/29/08- We meet the most beautiful baby girl in the world & the amazing mother that gave birth to her!! 7/9 - ICPC has cleared - we can go home!! 2/17/09- Finalized!!! After dealing with infertility, IVF & a miscarriage I finally realize what God had in store for us! What a joyful time to be alive!

I think is going to be the same thing as adoption stories.. They said something about open adoption.. We have to wait and see.. I loved adoption stories.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think this is actually going to show both sides of adoption. I think I saw one of the previews showing the emom changing her mind, not sure though. I think it will be nice to see the "whole picture" of adoption....especially for the rest of the world to see.
I have already set my tivo to record.

I think Adoption Stories is on the Discovery Channel. They are pretty good, I think I have seen them all. They were filmed in 2002-2003 I believe.

It is all focused on open adoptions working with one particular agency....there's a preview and more info on the network's website.

I just finished watching it. The show the Aparents, Bmom and adoption workers view point at least they did in this episode. It was good. It made my wife a little antsy to watch because of how things were happening. I wont go into details now since folks may need time to watch it.

Mr. Cris, married to a wonderful woman. 10/20/08- Orientation about Foster care and Adoption 11/1/08- Started MAPP Classes 1/31/09- Received MAPP Certificate of completion 3/17/09- Received background check clearance 5/27/09-Home study officially approved 6/29/09- Home Officially opened and on "THE LIST" 8/13/09- Received license in the mail 11/13/09-  rang regarding a 2 month old  and 2 year old as possible matches11/16/09- Paternal Family filed papers for custody of 2 year old :sad:11/17/09- Informed 2 month old actually a  and judge wants her placed in Pre-adoptive home ASAP 11/23/09- Told Foster Mom wants to try keep 2 month old. Waiting for Law guardian decision Patiently waiting to hear more

I had it set to record as well.
It did show both sides of the adoption process accurately. Seeing the birth mother's pain made me think of how difficult it must have been for my daughter's birth mother to leave her where she did, in China...And at the time, knowing that she would never know the outcome of my daughter's fate.

I thought it was pretty good. Was bothered by a couple of little things & I wish the bumpers that showed was was coming up after the commercial were a little less dramarific, but overall I thought it was a pretty balanced portrayal - a little more focused on the adopting family after the baby's birth but I thought it was probably by necessity since I can't imagine anyone wanting to be talking on camera too much in that circumstance - but I thought it did a good job of explaining open adoption & why and how it's done, etc.
I'll watch again, for sure.
