I personally would not want 19 children, but this family has their own business, built their own house, provides for their family etc. and to me, that entitles them to have as many children as they like. I'd rather hear about them than your average on the dole for life lazy never working family with 3 kids they don't care for in any shape or form who end up in foster care.

The violin thing though...that needs to stop.

They are a self sufficient family. Not on government assistance, and not completely reliant on their tv show. They were debt free long before they started their show. So I understand the "entitlement" Crick is talking about.
However, I think there's something mentally wrong with a woman who identifies herself mainly by if she is carrying a child.
I also think, with all the children in the world, why create so many more? Love the children already here. There's no sense of entitlement to create so many children, from that perspective.
Even if they have religious reasons for not getting in the way of a child being born, you have to TRY at creating 19 of them!

I dislike the fact that she relies so heavily on the older children to help with the younger. She is not "raising" those children all by herself. The older children have way more chores and responsibilities for child care than they would if the family was a more normal number. Let them be kids. I'm all for chores etc, but they shouldn't be doing the amount of child raising that they are doing.

I agree though. They are self sufficient, but do receive many donations from their church of clothing etc. I would feel much differently if they were on public aid I think.

I do think that when your kids are having kids though...it's time to stop...
