Please help me out?.....

Hello everyone, I am a hopeful adoptive parent. To pass the time while we are waiting for a little one to come into our lives I have gone back to school. I had to design a survey relating to a topic that I was passionate about, of course I chose adoption. If you could help me out by taking this survey for my class I would appreciate it.

This survey will be looking at the relationship between the number of children and the likelihood that a family will specify the gender of a child when they are adopting. This study will be given to families who are already in the adoption process, through adoption agencies and parent websites.

Hypothesis: Families with children already in the home are more likely to specify gender when considering adopting another child because they are given the opportunity to build their ideal family structure.

My name is Raechel Garcia and I am doing this survey as part of a graduate statistics class at Baker College. All answers to the survey will be kept confidential and not shared with anyone.

I'm not currently in the process of adopting again so I won't take the survey anyway. But I happened to glance at the survey questions and am just curious why fost/adopt is not included in question 8?

Sometimes life gives you a curve ball

We were orginally going to adopt from Guatamala and we wanted a girl. We didn't have any kids at the time. Than Guatamala closed for the first time. Got a boy domestically and it all happen within six weeks. Pure craziness. Than 9 months later prego with bio son. Three months after bio son prego with bio daughter. My oldest who is adopted his birthmom called and she is prego again and probably will not be able to keep it the state will take the baby and if that happens would like us to adopt the baby. Hey I like even numbers hoping for a girl knowing that it will be a joyful bouncing boy. Hey our girl has to be the princess. If it was a girl don't know what she would do anyhow. May have plans but things get in the way.

There are a few questions that I would have asked differently. I noticed that you don't ask about the marital status of the applicant. As a single woman, I have a strong preference for raising girls. I know many single women successfully raise great boys, but I just do not feel equipped to successfully parent a boy.

I didn't include foster families because to be honest I guess I didn't think of it. I think that when I wrote this survey I was thinking of the questions that would impact my life and seeing as how we are not considering fostering I guess I didn't think about it....Thank you for pointing this out, I will make sure to include this in my analysis of the things that I could have done differently.

We adopted internationally twice, and domestically once. Could you have a "both" option?
