Memories....
This pic is on my laptop as the background! I love this pic and didn't know I had it until a couple of weeks ago. DD just turned 2 and this has to be one of my fav pics of all time. This is the moment I knew that every doubt, fear, tear, and hard time was validated!
Anyone got any old/new pics of Great Moments/memories!? Attachment 82902

Beautiful pics! I'll play the memory game.
Here is the first picture of Liana that I ever saw. And I was so in love with her. I emailed it to my mom immediately, and we studied the picture together. At three months, she was so alert. We both saw something very special in her. I tried to hold back, because I knew that a lot could happen. But by the next day my mom had introduced her granddaughter to everyone she knew. For the next three months, my mom and I studied the monthly pictures together. I wouldn't let her buy a single present until we had passed a certain point in the process. There were complications, delays. My mom died suddenly, 3 1/2 months after seeing this first picture of Liana, before ever even being able to hold her. Six months after seeing this picture, still numb from my beloved mother's sudden death, I held Liana in my arms for the first time. I then had to give her back to the foster family. And it was another four months before I decided that enough was enough, and I just went to Guatemala to take custody of Liana until the process was over. We came to NYC together two months after that.

I want to play along.
Here is DH holding baby A for the first time. Dh had the same look on his face when our DD was born. The other one was taken when he was 4days old. I took a shower and when I got out he wasn't in his crib anymore. DD had took him to her room for some cuddles. I don't have any of T from when we first meet him on my computer anymore. My favorite memory wasn't captured with a picture. It was taken the day we went to pick him up at DHS to move home. He seen us from the other side of the glass and kept saying "I see someone". When the door opened he came running to me, jumped in my arms and hugged for several minutes. It was like he was afraid to let go. ![]() Last edited by arkansas parent : 08-25-2009 at 01:31 PM. |

I love a good walk down memory lane...
The first picture is DS1 at a couple of days old in the NICU (picture quality wasn't so good back then). The next pictures are from when DS2 was born last Oct. ![]()

Until it fell apart, we had a box that the rocking chair came in. She loved that box for at least a year! And one of her favorite things to do was to wrestle with her big bear.

Boxes are a funny thing, my DD will be 2 in October and I JUST threw away a Pampers Size 1 Jumbo Box... she currently wears a Size 5. I swear that box and the plastic thingy for the Diaper Genie are her favorite "toys". I couldn't believe how hard it was for me to throw that box away!

My picture is in my heart, as I didn't have a camera that day. I'd already seen a real photo via U/S of our baby, but we hadn't matched yet and hadn't yet met our dd's birthmom. Then, we went to meet our dd's birthmom at long last. I asked her how the U/S went, knowing SHE knew the gender of her baby. She asked me, "So what do you want, boy or girl?" I told her then about how I'd had this dream forever about our baby girl -- and that we all imagined a girl -- and yet, at the same time -- that was just the dream that initiated our adoption plan for our third child. I asked her, "soooooo, do you know?!" DD's birthmom answered, "I get to give you your dream. She's a girl!" I cried, I made her birthmom cry and my husband then cried. I'll never lose that picture of us all.
My picture of my son is when I saw him for the first time. He had the most beautiful longgggg lashes and long fingernails. No one had held him yet and I got to hold him, rock him and tell him his mommy was with him. Those picture are the best ones. susan

AHH, I love threads like this that bring back so many memories! This first picture is when Castle was only seconds old and the nurse let me carry her into the hall to see DH. We look horrible, it was a LONNNNNNG day at the hospital from 5:30 am until she was born at 9:30 pm. We had just moved on Saturday and Sunday and she was born on Monday! The second is of her today at the local Co. fair.

This is DD right before we left the hospital. The yellow jacket/hat she is wearing was made by my grandmother. My mom and all of her siblings wore it home from the hospital, then myself and all of my cousins used it, and now all of the great grandkids wear it home. I was so thankful DD was able to take part in this tradition.
The next picture was our first "family picture". Please excuse the way we look.....this was also taken the day we left the hospital and it had been a stressful 48 hrs....without a shower. ![]()
