Need some help

I dont know where to post this so I guess I will ask here and see if anyone has any info. I was just wondering if anyone knew if it was possible for canadians to adopt from the american fostercare system? My husband and I are interested in a sibling group and where hoping we could get some help. Thanks for any info.

I have no idea if this is possible or not. I would recommend contacting your local dhs office and asking if they know the answer. If they don't you might try contacting the cw listed for the child(ren) (if you are looking at a specific child(ren). Good luck.

I believe you can, but it would be considered an international adoption.

It would also fall under the new Hague regulations for intercountry adoption, which would make it very difficult for a child to be adopted out of the US.

Yes you can. Do a member search for Jensboys and send her a PM. She's Canadian and adopted from the US foster care system. I think she posted on the forums today. So she's still active.
