2 year old "Belly hurts"

My (almost) 2 year old's newest phrase is "my belly hurts"..... At first I was worried but now it's all the time. I tell her to toot and most of the time she does and that's that. Is there anything else I should be worried about?

We travel a lot and her carseat becomes her worst enemy. About an hour or so into the ride it's... my belly hurts...... Mommy.. My belly hurts.

The other day she heard me talking about someone's heart hurting and she grabbed her stomach and said.. my heart hurts.

She was just at the doctor two weeks ago for her physical for our HS and everything was fine.

Does anyone else ever have or have had this issue with kiddos? When should I get worried?

this happens so much with us it's part of our bed time routine "...and remember, no head hurt, no tummy hurt, no legs hurt" etc, etc. We figured out one night he was just trying to come up with excuses.

And the car seat thing - I hear you. We get about 45 minutes into the trip and mysterious body parts start hurting. I've found that once I acknowledge that I know he wants out and tell him we'll be there "in a little bit" it will settle him down for awhile.

Joshie just told me the other day that his head hurt. I checked his temp (normal) and gave him some Motrin. He must've liked the taste of it b/c he wanted more. I will have to watch for this kind of behavior!

Blessings, Michelle

My older son used to do it with his head hurting, just to have Motrin. Ugh. Then it moved to his stomach in the car, cuz it got a reaction at first. Lately it's his throat. Our 2.5yo is a little parrot, so his stomach is constantly hurting now. He does it in the car or if he has to eat. We've been ignoring it and redirecting him to something else. I hope it passes soon!

Thanks

I am doing the "change the subject" thing right now and it seems to do good.

My 3 year old DD does this too (tummy hurts). Lately the complaint seems to usually come after mealtimes. So I was thinking gas or perhaps a slight lactose intolerance. I don't necessarily think it's nothing. But the issue seems really mild whatever it is. We're trying a lactose free milk for a while. No complaints the last couple of days but I think that actually started a day before we switched milks. When she does complain I usually suggest she go potty or try to pass gas or lie on the couch (although when she's at the table she's expected to clear her place before leaving the table in any case). Generally she says she feels better after about 5 minutes (when she notices her brothers playing and having fun?).

hm

Well, today we have had: My foot hurts, my toe hurts, my leg hurts, my back hurts and my butt hurts.

Foot, leg and toe pain = squito bite

back & butt= where her diaper was rubbing her..

No "belly" issues yet today... just every other body part!!

That's funny My DD went through a mosquito bite phase! Everything from a bump on her head to a scratch on her leg was considered a "squito bite". Often she would have considerable trouble actually finding the "squito bite" when I asked to see it. LOL!

This made me chuckle because it reminds me of a story my mother told me a long time ago. Several years ago, my brother and his family went on a road trip with my parents and my 2 yr old niece at the time (now 16) kept saying "my stomach hurts" while they were riding in the car. My mother was concerned and wanted to pull over. My brother kept telling my mother there's nothing wrong she just wants out of her car seat, which turned out to be true (after of course getting her out of her seat a few times only to find that once back in it her stomach would hurt again).
