Heart Excited For Cam and Heart Cath #4

I got a call from our attorney's paralegal today to let us know some great news. This is the part I did know: Cameron had a bio baby brother born and placed for adoption last December. However, my life has been SO chaotic and stressful that I hadn't talked with our attorney to see if the other family would be willing to have contact. THEY ARE!!! There is a letter on the way from them and a picture of his brother. I am SO excited for Cameron. I'm thrilled that he'll have that connection. It sounds like they're open to visits too. I cannot wait to get the picture and show it to Cameron. What a gift.

And onto other news...for those who don't follow his carepage (pm me if you'd like to), Cameron is having heart catheterization #4 tomorrow at 10 am, CST, plus a vocal cord scope and brain MRI. I'm nervous about the cath, but trying to live in denial as much as possible. Really, it's how us heart mom's survive.

Their isn't a specific concern on the heart cath, just a general checking on things. I'm guessing they'll measure the pressures, check on his problematic atrial septum and maybe be doing stents in his pulmonary arteries. Funny thing though, today is one year to the date that he left the hospital after a 4-month-stay, which started with heart cath #1. Hopefully, this is just an overnight stay.

If you'd keep us in mind tomorrow, I'd appreciate it. Every time I hand Cameron over to someone to operate on, it's so hard. This is at least the 10th time and it never gets any easier. I can't help but cry and I know he'll be anxious. Thanfully, he'll be with a team the entire time that knows him well. I'll also be requesting versed from his anesthisiologist to keep him calm. I really believe in God's faithfulness, so that is what I hold onto in times of uncertainty. The support from a.com too, means more than I can say.

You and Cam are in my thoughts. I've only had to hand my baby over 4 times for surgery, twice for her heart (double VSD), twice for her ears. I hope I never have to do it again. It's wonderful to have doctors and surgeons that you can trust and that your child knows.

ETA: I think it is wonderful about Cam's brother. How awesome for him.

I will be praying for you and for Cameron. DH had a heart cath when he was in to monitor his pressure and what not. It is super scary. You are a strong heart Mommy!

Awesome news on the sibling too! That's great

So glad the other family is open to contact!

Hope all goes well tomorrow and they give you an oxygen tube to chew through while waiting. Take your laptop and buzz Suzberg repeatedly through out! ((HUGS))

DDW - You KNOW we are praying for you and Cam! E was having surgery on her foot last year and I told Hubby, I was still super worried and nervous even though she's had 5 Open Heart Surgeries and 6 or 7 caths. Foot surgery was easy by comparison but Hubby said "anytime we give her to a doc and have to sit in a waiting room for them to tell us how it went it's okay for me to freak-out (just a little)". It's so hard BUT you are the strongest mom I know and you and Cam will do great!

Crick - I already told her to take her laptop and im me all day long . That's how I survived Em's last surgery - chatting on im with Crick!
