Our DD had six teeth at 12 months of age, but they only started erupting when she was 9 1/2 months old, so we'd been waiting (on edge) for a while. She had 6 teeth for several months, and in the last 2 months (she's 17 months old now), has 4 incisors and 4 molars coming in at the same time.

With my firstborn, he didn't get his first tooth until he was 11 months old. I was panicked about it, but his doc, just made a joke about not making baby dentures and told me to be patient cause every kid is different. He also lost them late, not lossing his first one until he was seven. The dentist actually said it was good for kids to get teeth later because they loose them later and don't get permanant teeth till they are better at brushing.

When he adopted our son at one year of age he had NO teeth! He finally got his first two teeth at 15 months and then no more for about 3 months after that. Then they just started popping out one right after the other. He's 26 months now and he's got 16 teeth (with a couple more coming in). Except for the first two (bottom front) they did NOT come in the order the child care books said they would (teeth 3, 4, 5 and 6 were molars). We don't know whether his late tooth eruption was due to poor nutrition during infancy or whether his birth parents were also late in getting their teeth.

Interestingly enough, all of the moms in their 20's, 30's & 40's found his lack of teeth to be deeply serious, and signs of some potential problem but all the older ladies in my neighborhood (60+) just shrugged it off & told me "Some babies get their teeth later than others, don't worry, he'll get them eventually."

At 12 months Tyler had 2. He has had 8 for maybe 3 months now, and he's working on 4 more.

Our DD had 8 teeth at 11 mo. I'm not really forward to him getting more and losing his "rodent smile" as DD calls it.

Once again - perfect timing! Nate has been a mess the last few days - and turns out he was trying to pop out both an incisor and a molar! Now that they have both erupted, he is happy as a clam!

He got his first tooth at 7 months, and now have the top 4 front teeth, 3 on the bottom front, and 2 molars on the bottom - so, a total of 9. My friends little one had 10 teeth by the time she was 5 months! She had 6 on top, and 2 on bottom. All 4 of her molars came in within a week, too...poor thing! (and mama - she was nursing and baby L liked to bite!!!)

Baby A is leaps and bounds ahead of lots of other babies in other ways - I wouldn't worry.

My dd is 1 and has 3 on top and one more coming in and 2 on bottom. She was slow at getting any as she was about 10 months before the first ones broke through.

Our first baby is now almost 30yrs old! She came to us at 7.5months and had no teeth. I had asked the pediatrician about her 'no teeth' status and was assured they'd come in soon.

When she approached the one year mark...she still had no teeth. I worried and went to the pediatrician to ask the same question: "When should I be worried about her teeth?"
His reply: "When she's about 62!" He went on to explain she would eventually get teeth...

At 13months, she got her first tooth.....and the rest of her teeth followed within the next few months.

Teeth will come when they're ready I guess!

Sincerely,

Linny

Athena just turned 1 and she has had the two on the bottom for a while and her top 2 are just coming in.
She and baby A seem to be keeping up with each other!

Lily had 6 teeth when she turned 1. Kaiden had NONE! He actually didn't get his first tooth until he was 16 months old.
