Kind of OT: Swaddlers?

My dh and I fell in love with a swaddler at our baby care class. We definitely want to look into getting one for our future baby. I searched "swaddlers" at Target's site, and there were a LOT! We don't even know where to begin!

Do you have a recommendation for a swaddler? We know that the blankets work just fine, too, but we'd love to get a swaddler. If you have one that you love (or have heard that other people love), we'd appreciate it! TIA!!

I love the Kiddopotomas brand. The velcro is great. It also comes in three sizes.

We love the Kiddopotomas one too except the one we have is fleece and the baby is starting to sweat. We need to get the light weight one. When they are tiny, a square, stretchy blanket works really well. But once they get stronger, they can break out!

I just used a regular blanket to swaddle W. Why don't you get 2 or 3 different ones and see which type the baby likes when it gets here? I got sleep-n-plays and sleep sacks while waiting for our baby. He loves sleep-n-plays but hates the sleep sacks. Good luck!

We had a swaddler, I'm not sure of the brand, but it had Velcro and Joshie seemed to love it the first few weeks, then he got bigger and was able to kick out of it so we switched to plain old blankets.

Blessings, Michelle

With 1st DS - I found swaddlers were great for really NB babies, but I found you had to size up in a short time and they are really expensive. Also found regular receiving blankets were to small. So I went to a fabric store and bought some flannel on sale and cut the blanket square - as long and the fabric was wide, 45" I think. They worked the best. I could get a tight swaddle and he couldn't kick out.

So for DD we just stuck right with the xtra large receiving blankets from the get go. They were so much handier and for the same price as one swaddler, you could litterally have 30 - which was good since my babies were pukey and I often needed to use a fresh blanket for every nap. I swaddled DD in these from birth till 7 months then went to a sleep sac.

I used The Miracle Blanket for my foster son- it was THE only thing that worked to calm him down and let him sleep. He was premature and drug exposed. We used it until he was about six months old and even after he used it for a lovey!

I swaddled both our children and recommend it to everyone!!!!!

We used regular blankets, tried the kiddopatumus swaddle me, but by far the absolute best is the miracle blanket. They are about $30 but they fit from newborn to 6 months or longer. We have recommended it to several friends and they all love it too. It's now my shower gift for everyone.

You can purchase and get more info on their website. just google The miracle blanket.

I can't recommend Aden and Anais swaddling blankets more. I love love love them!!!!!!!!! They are not only lightweight and attractive, but they really hold a tight swaddle, plus they are large enough to use for a long time. They don't have velcro etc, those never worked for me.
