books on adoption for a 20 month old

Ok i have a question-

We are in the process of adopting a 20 month old boy. We are suppose to have books that he can look at about adoption. Anyone have any suggestions? Went to 2 different book stores and still no answers.

Try amazon.com.

We read Tell Me Again About the Night I was Born, The Day We Met You, and can't remember the others right now.

If it is a transracial adoption, we love A Mother for Choco among others.

I second Tell Me Again About the Night I Was Born. The illustrations are very cute and funny. My kids love Little Miss Spider. And my MIL recently made a laminated book of photos along with a simple version of my daughter's adoption story (she working on books for my sons).

Here are some that we have:

"A Mother for Choco" by Keiko Kasza
"The Day we Met You" by Phoebe Koehler
"Never, Never, Never Will She Stop Loving You" by Jolene Durrant
"Did My First Mother Love Me?" by Kathryn Ann Miller
"My Adopted Child, There's No One Like You" by Kevin Leman
"Tell Me again About the Night I was Born" by Jamie Lee Curtis
"The Family Book" by Todd Parr
"We Belong Together" by Todd Parr

You may not be able to find a lot on bookstore shelves. I think I got most of mine from Amazon.com or off of eBay.

We have:
A Mother for Choco
The Day We Met You
The Little Green Goose
How I Was Adopted

How I Was Adopted is nice and encourages the reader to talk/think about his or her own adoption. Some people do not like it because it does use the word "uterus" and that's a bit more than they are comfortable with.

We ordered all of ours online as we live in a small town with little selection at our local bookstore....

I really like _And Tango Makes Three,_ although you should be aware that the adoption in the book is a gay adoption--it is based on a true story, and the illustrations of the penguins are just adorable.

My daughter loves "Little Miss Spider", we also read it to her daycare every year for National Adoption Day.
