OT-Born Free Bottles

#3 is on her way!!!

So we could have a baby as soon as tomorrow, so we are working quickly to get everything ready. We bought 10 of the Born Free bottles and washed and boiled them this morning. I was following the directions while putting them back together (lots of parts) and noticed that each bottle came with this round disk-like piece, but the directions never mentioned this piece.

For those that use this bottle, do you know what I am talking about? Do I need to keep this? I have no idea what to do with it.

There should be a plastic disc thing as well as a rubber disc thing and the two pieces fit together firmly. That goes onto the opening of the bottle and then the regular nipple/ring screws on top of that. It's supposed to cut down on gas but I'm not clear on how it works. We liked our Born Free bottles and are using them again for #2. If you don't put in those extra parts, the bottles seem to leak.

Good luck and congrats on ##!!

No, it's another smaller plastic disk... not the one that snaps into the rubber piece.

I think I remember extra pieces yeah. I think it's an extra protection so they don't spill or something when you carry them somewhere... I just pitched them.

Can you use them without the nipples to keep the contents from spilling when you make up bottles ahead?

NOPE. I thought that's what they were for, but it's not spill-proof. However, if I remember correctly, you can use them with the nipples to prevent spillage in transit, as the nipples do allow drips here and there if the diaper bag is getting bounced around.
