My sick, sick, little man.
As some of you know and some of you don't I have a son that had a liver, pancreas, and intestine transplant. Well I am calling upon all my friends here for some prayers. Kaiden was admitted to the hospital yesterday. He had a little diarrhea the night before (which is normal for a kid with transplanted bowels) but by morning he looked terribly dehydrated. Sunken eyes, fontanel, tacky mouth, the works. I took him to the ER and the found he has a paralytic ileus which means his intestines stopped moving food through them and caused a bowel obstruction. The diarrhea happened because the only thing that could come out was what could make it around the blockage.
He is in intensive care now. They had to put another NJ tube in and put a drainage vent in his belly. His kidneys are failing, and he needs a blood transfusion because his clotting factor isn't high enough for surgery. They did an barium enema today and part of the transplanted bowel is becoming necrotic so they need to do a bowel resection and hope that works. Please pray for my little man going into this battle. He has dealt with more things than anyone should in a lifetime and he is only 17 months old. I will keep you all updated as I get details. Thanks for your thoughts.

Your post just breaks my heart. I am praying now for the gift of healing and peace and strength for you both. It's so hard to have a child that is miserable from a cold or normal illness, but I can't imagine how I would feel in your shoes. Please try to update us when you can.

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. I have your son and your family in my thoughts and prayers....I hope he pulls through with flying colors. You must be beside yourself. Please keep us posted.
