OT/Vacation at Disney World!

We got home yesterday from our trip to Disney. It was my first time ever and we all enjoyed it so much.
We stayed at the Coronada Springs Resort, which was just beautiful.
The kids favorite park was Magic Kingdom. We sent 3 days there,1 day at Ecot, 1 day at Hollywood and 1 day at Animal Kingdom. What an awsome Spring Break!

Then we headed over to St. Augustine to the beach. We ate at a restaruant called Mango Mango's. It was the best seafood ever! If anyone is ever in that area, I highly recommend this place!

I must admit though that there is no place like home. I'm glad we all enjoyed ourselves, but boy, did my bed feel good last night, LOL!

Oh, I am glad you all had so much fun!

I haven't been to Disney World in so long; I can't wait for M to be a few years older, and then we will probably go again. I LOVE Disney Land and Disney World....so much fun for adults and children!

I'm so glad you had a great trip! We were there in January. Disney World has always been my favorite vacation and now it's so much more fun with kids! We are already planning/saving for next year.

Disney

I am sooo jealous! My big girl and I went to Disney last year and had the time of our lives! We went for her fifth birthday. We stayed at Music. I got the package that included our food. That was the best thing I ever did. No worries about what or where to eat. A big plus on that plan too is that I didn't have to worry about how much the food cost, it was prepaid so all I did was look at the menu and picked out my favorite. We had lunch with the princesses and dinner with Pooh and friends. We can't wait to go back. Her birthday is coming up and she keeps talking about it so we are going to have to go back soon.

So glad you had a good time. All the parks are great.

Oh my gosh - we got back from a 10 day trip to Disneyworld in October and still talk about it everyday. My kids (at their older ages) want to go back in "3 years" when there will be new stuff! Even 10 days, we didn't get bored!!!

Glad you had a good time! You guys deserve it!

We went 2 years ago, and are going back (hopefully) next year.

How far is St. Augustine from Disney? We'd like to take 2 weeks - the first at Disney, and then since you need a vacation after THAT vacation, we'd like to spend a week on the ocean...

St. Austine was about 2 hrs from Disney. I wish we would have had the time to stay and enjoy the attractions there. They have a Lighthouse that you can tour! We are going to go back and vacation there someday.

We also had a dining plan at Disney. It was well worth paying for in advance. The character meals were the best! I hope we can go back in about 4 years when our baby is old enough to ride all the rides!

I am booking a disney vacation for September in like 2 weeks!!! Once we figure out if we are for sure closing on our new house and moving in May.... We're leaning toward a moderate resort - how are the pools at some of those?? I don't want to walk far from our room to either the pools or the shuttles? Also with a 4 year old and a 1.5 year old, would you bring the double stroller, or rent one there?

You know, when you adopt, you don't vacation during the waiting phase (saving vacation time in case the call comes) and then the baby is little and everyone is adjusting - so we have not had a vacation in like 3 years!!! We really, really can't wait..... We are telling the older one that we can go to Disney when she gets potty trained, and that really seems to have become the golden ticket for her - it was just the inspiration that she needed!!!

Mega - are you going in FL or CA?

If Florida, we stayed at Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter. LOVED it!!!! Pool? Amazing! Plus, the resort was small enough that you can EASILY walk from rooms to pool to store to restaurant to shuttles (I've heard that the Caribbean Resort was too big).

The P.O.F.Q. is the first pick up on the bus route to the parks, as well as the first drop off. We were ALWAYS the first ones to choose our seats on the bus!

Another GREAT thing is that the POFQ has a boat that will take you to Downtown Disney, if you are interested in eating/shopping there...It's a nice, relaxing little ride, and we all enjoyed being in the open air as opposed to another shuttle.

As for the strollers, when we went there in 2007, they were $16 a day for a double, but the following January, they doubled the price, and it is in the mid $30's...I say bring your own, and save yourself $200.00.

Great. I got the bug. Wish we could go THIS year instead of next!

You may want to consider booking sooner. The Free Dining promotion has just come out. It's a great deal. You could book now and cancel if you decide not to go. You probaby won't have nay trouble booking in a couple weeks but may not get the resort you want.
We went in December anad are going agin the first week of May. We LOVE WDW!

We stayed at the Coronado Springs Resort. It was beautiful. We layed out in the hammicks under the stars at night with the sand underneath us. I loved it!
It is a very large resort. We stayed in the Cabanas area which was close to bus stop and the hammicks. We had a smaller pool that was very close as well. The big pool was not very far either. The big pool had a water slide. The restraunts were not that far either. And the resort does not share shuttles with another resort. I really liked that because the shuttles can fill up quickly!

You should really consider taking a stroller. It is very expensive to rent them at the parks. Plus they come in very handy at the resorts.

Book as soon as possible. Check out the character diinners you want to attend and book those as well. I always tried to book the dinners in the parks that had Magic Hours. We opted not to have to the park hopper option, so that was how I had to do it.
We had lunch with Pooh Bear and Friends, Dinner with the Princesses, breakfast with Donald and Mickey & friends. We also went to the Polynessian Resort for a LuAu. So much fun!

Feeling, I am so glad that you had a great vacation. I know how much you and your family needed it. As for a vacation after the vacation, I have said the same thing since my SS was 5 and we took our first family vacation then. You are so busy entertaining the kids and on the go to see the sights that you don't really relax. Hope you get time to unwind this week.
