OT-Minivan info.

Dh and I are thinking about adopting #2 shortly and will need a bigger vehicle. I've never really been an SUV person and have always preferred small to midsize cars, so this is going to be a big change for me!! We have one child now and an 18 year old niece living with us on a permanent basis, so I will need something roomy. I have been looking at Chrysler Town and Country's and Chevy Uplander's. Dh won't buy anything Foreign....it's a bummer too because I love Honda's . Anyone have experience with these vans? I am interested in dependabiltiy and gas mileage info! Thanks!

I'd take a look at these reviews....

We drive two mini vans and love them.

The family one is a Pontiac Montana, seats 7, fully loaded with 4 captain seats and a third row bench. It is easy on gas and very comfortable.

I like the Uplander as well.

Nothing foreign, eh? Bummer. We've got the Toyota Sienna and absolutely LOVE it. It handles like a dream and I love the flexibility it offers in seating arrangements and storage. Everything is very functional and good quality. I love the automatic sliding doors, and the automatic rear door is great when you've got a cart full of groceries. I went from a sedan to the minivan and haven't looked back.

I love the Caravan - Dodge. I would suggest looking at resale. Because minivans have low sex appeal, a minivan that was new a year ago for $20k will resale for $12k. Their value drops like a rock in water.

Thanks for everyone's replies! Mdesi, you are so right about the resale value! I have been noticing huge savings in models that a just a year old. We will probably buy used with VERY low miles and save about 10,000.

Keep the replies coming, I would love to hear about any domestic vans everyone loves or loves to hate. LOL.
