TEN days left!!!!!

We only have 10 days until our sweet little baby gets to be born!!! Emom is having a repeat c/s on March 9th at noon. OMG!!! I have packed and repacked her bag a million times, looked over all the baby stuff a billion times. My hands are sore from crocheting stuff just to pass the time. I am thankful I work the next 5 days in a row so that will pass some time but then I have 5 days off before the birth so repack some more
Emom and I had a really nice heart to heart the other day over Starbucks and she revealed that she really doesn't want baby in her room that much so we talked and she decided that she would be OK with us taking baby home after 24 hours instead of me staying with her in hospital for 3 days. I am so excited about that!!!!!
I will keep you all posted.

Wow! How exciting! We had a very last minute match- 2 days before our son's birth, so I don't know what I'd do if I had to wait 10 days! Just keep crocheting and packing!

Congratulations on your match!

PLEASE don't take this as a comment meant to "rain on your parade", but the quote above has me wondering. In our state (IL) the bio mom of a child CANNOT sign her consent until day 3 after birth. If this or a similar time frame is the law in your state, are you willing to risk taking the baby home for two days only hear that she will not be signing and you'll need to "return" the baby to her? AGAIN, I'm not assuming this will happen, but wanted to know if you've considered this.

What you have described is very similar to a situation we found ourselves in and we had to decide if it was a risk we were willing to take. Please think it over. I'm hoping laws are different in your state, but please make sure you know all the ins and outs of the situation before you proceed.

Much good luck. Keep us posted!
