OT -- I am usually not the jealous type...
but did anyone catch a picture of Tiger Woods' family. The picture I saw was a gorgeous Tiger, a gorgeous wife, two gorgeous children and two gorgeous pups. I am sure they have their problems too (yeah, right! haha!).

My husband and I looked at the photos online last nite and, yes, they are beautiful, all of them. We agreed, though, that each one of our children is every bit as beautiful and we are every bit as bleseed. OK, so we don't have 5 cars to choose from but just hoping that at least one of our high-mileage vehicles starts every morning. Yes, Tiger has quite the cut body (not that I noticed) and walks much like Obama, with that kind of quiet confidence that is such a turn-on.

I actually don't like him at all! He definitely deserves his success. I'll give him that but personally he bugs me. He denies that he's AA because of his Asian mother. My problem is there are plenty of AA that look like him or "lighter" who aren't rich or famous and trust me when the police pull them over they are definitley just "black". When your poor or not famous you don't have the option to turn off your "blackness". No he's not my role model.

I think she was Charles Barkley's child's Nanny's identical twin sister or something like that. It was a fix up.

. How is Tiger Woods denying his AA hertiage by calling himself multiraical? Plus, would your opinion change if he looked more Asian that AA? Would you feel he was denying his AA hertiage if he looked Asian and identified himself as multiracial? |

I'm definitely not debating anyone on here beacuse my personal feeling are just that, mine. I will let you pick my brain though ![]() He has said he doesn't indentify himself as AA because he would be denying his mother. I can understand that because he is biracial. However the truth is no matter what people are going to identify him as AA. That's why Halle Berry says she's AA. Of course everyone knows she biracial but she said her (CC) mom told her your AA and this is how society will see you. Same with Barack too. I just feel that if he wasn't "Tiger" he would not have the luxury to say i'm not black. I grew up with plenty of AA men who were "lighter" (i.e more CC looking) than Tiger and even then they didn't have the luxury of turning off their blackness. I have plenty of Biracial friends that have been called N***, discriminated against etc... If he was more Asian looking and denied his AA I would feel the same but I am more so talking about how society see's people. My son is fairly light skinned. He's mulitracial but when he's driving at night in my neighborhood the police will see him as AA. That's reality. ETA- Hard to explain what I am trying to say online AND dealing with DS right now but I hope you get what I am trying to say.

Yes, they're a nice looking family, but so are we so no jealousy here.
That's interesting about Tiger denying being AA. I'd never heard that. From what I understand, he embraces all of his heritage which is admirable and courageous. I like that he doesn't say that he's AA just because he looks AA. He's half Asian and half AA. I also think it's major progress that he "can" claim all of his heritage. At one time, people who had AA heritage and "looked" AA were subjected to a racist one-drop rule. To be able to claim multiracial rather than choose one race is huge progress. |
