Shoes: Robeez Tredz

Can anyone tell me how flexible the soles are on Robeez Tredz? DS tried on a pair of See Kai Run shoes and the soles were great. The soles were a not-too-thick rubber and so flexible that I could bend the shoe in half which is what I want. But I'd like something that DS can't easily remove from his feet everytime he's in the car or stroller so I'm thinking Robeez since they have the elastic in the back of the ankle. I'm not sure I want to go with the super soft sole and the next step up would be the Tredz.

I love the Robeez....

They are the best..honest.

I bought the imitation ones from Walmart, and they weren't nearly as nice because they were so hard to get on.

The Robeez are soft, easy to get on, and I never found that they fell off easily at all.

They are expensive, but worth it.

I love them, but I also love the kind that Stormster sent. Bouboux or something.

Ty's wearing Umi's right now though. I feel like they are warmer for the winter and I like the grippy toe.

The Tredz are great but very narrow. Too narrow for E's Fred Flintstone feet!

If width is an issue (do any babies actually have narrow feet? Every baby I know has little box feet) ...Umi's are very wide, and easy to put on. They sole wraps right around the top of the toe, and they do also have elastic at the back. I feel like they are a good shoe for that crawling/early walking age kid. Tyler is pulling up on everything and cruising, and these don't hinder him at all. He crawls 90 miles an hour when he's wearing them. They stay on pretty well, though they have Velcro which he can get undone if he works at it...and he does of course.

I'll be honest, I was at a Drop and Shop sale for children's consignments and another mother next to me said, I see you are shopping for baby boy stuff. These shoes are amazing, this pair looks brand new and they are expensive brand new (they are between $40-$60 new). I have three pairs for my daughter. So I bought them for $8. I'm totally hooked on how great they are now. I've checked out the Umi site, and it looks like they have a lot of great shoes in various sole types for young children. Not cheap, but I've found them to be very well made.

Good Luck

I forgot to mention that Robeez makes the fur-lined booties. My younger son wore his constantly. I think they were around $40.

Shooshoos actually has a line of soft rubber soled shoes now. We like them, very bendy. dd can't get them off and they are cheaper than Robeez.

I haven't tried the shooshoos rubber soled shoes but their standard ones are great. We used them for our little one until he was old enough for tennis shoes! They are also much cheaper than the Robeez.

FYI we had a pair of See Kai Run's and they didn't seem to be well made at all, sole split off quite soon. Maybe we had a bad pair, because other people seem to like them. I'm not familiar w/ Robeez tredz, we used regular robeez until he was walking a lot outside and then got the baby shoes from target that are actually made by stride rite.

I never knew choosing shoes would be so difficult. I posted a week ago looking for different brands and everyone was so helpful. Most of what everyone recommended I couldn't find in stores (I prefer seeing the shoes and trying them on before buying). At home DS goes barefoot or wears socks and everywhere else he's in the stroller and won't keep shoes on so I mostly need them when he's at the toddler playground. We go there a few times a week. (We're in California so the weather's usually pretty nice in the winter...well, it is raining today.) There's a great soft, blacktop (kind of like cork but a bit harder) and DS can do a lot of walking there. He's been walking about a month now and is pretty good, but with the hard bottoms he stumbles a lot outside. I ended up ordering Pedipeds last night so I'll see how those work out. Thanks, everyone!

Update: The Pedipeds came yesterday and I love them! DS didn't try to take them off and walked in them like he was walking in his bare feet. I'm so glad we finally found the right shoe. Thanks again everyone.
