Has anyone read this book?
Just wondering if anyone has read this:
The Kazdin Method for Parenting the Defiant Child: With No Pills, No Therapy, No Contest of Wills by Alan E. Kazdin, Ph. D. He is the Director of the Yale Parenting Center and Child Conduct Clinic. I heard him interviewed this morning on the radio, I think I might buy this book. I'm not sure yet if my 4 y.o. can be considered "defiant" but he certainly has his days...and time-outs and restrictions, while they work to some degree, are not preventing bad behaviors from happening again. And the 2 y.o. seems like he will be even more strong-willed than the 4 y.o.! Anyway, if anyone has read it please do share your thoughts! Thanks, Cate

I'm afraid I can't give you any info on the book. But I'm glad you posted about it. I will be looking to see if I can borrow it from the library. Our 4 year old will be the death of me yet. I have never dealt with such a strong willed defiant little person in my life! Our staircase is starting to show bum imprints from all the timeouts she has there.
