Ours started with 'A' too, but the other agency we considered started with 'N'.

Ours started with A, but Adoption was the first word in the name. Adoption by GC. We have generally heard them referred to only as GC, so maybe the addition of "Adoption by" was to boost their phone book listing.

The first agency I started working with started with 'C', and the agency I actually adopted from began with an 'A'.

So, interesting, many do begin with A, or close to it. And, even though many places do have "Adoption" as their first word to begin with A, I can think of some agency names that have another word in front of the word Adoption to make it different, but still be A.

Homestudy agency started with an A, adoption was the first word. I did not use the yellow pages, though. Placing agency starts with F, facilitator (who birthmom went contacted) starts with U.
