I am just wondering if anyone has finalized in FL and if so did it go past the 90 days and if so how long did it take you for your court appointment to finalize?

We finalized in FL for one of our babies and it went beyond the 90 day limit. In fact, it took 7 or 8 months before we went to court via the phone. (I didn't even realize there was a 90 day possibility until just recently.)

Looking back, it might have been that long because our state requires the time limit of 4-6months before finalization. But even THAT was extended! (We've never had a finalization that happened within the 'expected time'; and it wasn't because anyone contested the adoption or anything like that.)

It was about 3 months after she was born that we had the final hearing in FL.

Ours took about 5 months but we had issues with getting bfathers rights terminated. Once the rights were terminated, it was pretty quick getting the hearing scheduled to do over the phone (which was super quick-10 minutes!).

We adopted in Florida. Consents were given on June 1, terminations of parental rights hearing was July 5, finalization was September 5.
Our attorney got the date for the finalization at the termination of parental rights hearing.
