OT: Crib parts

Does anyone know where to get crib parts? I need the upper plastic track. The company that makes the crib doesn't sell replacement parts . I really don't want to have to buy a new crib because of one stupid little peice of plastic, but I might have to.

I don't have an answer, but I'm right there with you! Our long-standing, well-respected company closed down not too long after we got the crib! Go figure! Now I'm missing a couple stablilizing pieces for the sliders, and can't find any!

Ohhhh, Arkansas!!!!! Where were you several weeks ago when my 5yr old jumped onto the side of the 'new from the rummage sale' crib and broke the little plastic nubs from the top of the side rail???
Luckily (I thought) my sister had a instruction book from a similar crib (and the same company)....so I was THRILLED to have the 'piece number', code, etc...and I phoned them to ask, 'How much will this cost and when will it be in'?

And you know WHAT??!?!?!!?!?!? The company person asked me "How old is the crib?"
I told her it was 7yrs old. And THEN she proceeded to tell me that it was too old, that they didn't sell the parts for it anymore; and that they only sold parts for cribs that were much newer than that!

'SO!", I said...."You mean that if I have a baby today and go out to buy a new crib; THEN three years later I have another baby and need a part for the crib----you probably WON'T have the replacement parts for it????"

"That's right."

I was SOOO Angry! Not just at my 5yr old---whom I'd told to 'stay OFF' days before....but to think that there was NO WAY I could repair this crib I'd paid $50 for just a week before. Absolutely GREAT buy......pretty crib, got a really GOOD deal on it!!!
And, because I have a two year old who's just not quite ready to go into his toddler bed, my dh drilled a screw through the side of each rail to attach it so it's high enough to crawl out of, but not high enough to roll out of, KWIM? Can't move the side rail, but I guess it'll do for this time anyway.

So yeah, unless someone here knows something I don't----or couldn't find....then you'll probably have to do what *we* did---or throw it away!!!!
INSANE, isn't it? And I tell you, this was NOT a side piece that's being recalled...it was the tip of the side insert. IF you're talking about the recalled pieces, you might have more luck to just phone the company and ask them about that. If not, like I said, WOE to those of us who'd EVER think we'd SAVE cribs for more children, RIGHT?????

Sincerely,

Linny

My SIL gave us our crib ( I don't really like it but is was FREE) We done the same thing with a screw, but we need to be able to lower/raise the side when we lower the mattress.

I found one crappy website that sells parts but you can't order online and no one answers the phone. Maybe they will reply to my email.

I feel your pain. The cribs I bought for the daycare went out of business a month after I bought them. Then last year my kids were runninng and fell against the crib and bent the drop side guides and the side fell off. One of my daycare parents used screws to straighten the guides back out. It works for now. On another note my dad bought my brother a crib from the thrift shop it had everything but hardware. So we bought all the hardware from Lowes, but for plastic pieces I would say keep googling and try to find it or take this opportunity to get what you really wanted.

I found a website that sells replacement parts. It is going to cost less then $12 to fix it.

PM me if you need the website.
