The Flipper: Sage Continues (don't read over breakfast!)
Ok he's bigger, stronger, his poops are bigger and ummm "stronger?" and he's not falling for ANY of my old tricks to keep him on his back for even a second! I could give him my blackberry, the sonic toothbrush (those were the "sure things") and he's not having it.
He's been in pullups for months which is GREAT for pee but I'm desperate!!!!!! Today I did the most UN PC thing. I PUT A COOKIE IN HIS MOUTH! Choking hazard, food abuse....yeah I feel GREAT about that one. It worked once but he wont' fall for it again. UGH help? Should i take off all his clothes and just change him in the bathtub? Doesn't help that he has Chronic Diarrhea? Sorry so gross. I NEED HELP!

Joshie is a squirmer on the changing table too. I pretty much hold him with one hand all the while trying to talk him out of turning over while I do everything else with the other hand. Last night we went over parts of the body while getting him in his PJ's for bed. I had to go slow though to get it all done. I've also tried singing and making funny faces. They don't all work all the time, but if I mix 'em up, he will at least stare at me while I change him. DH says I'm the fastest diaper changer in these parts, LOL.
Good luck! Blessings, Michelle

I can't wait until Aclee comes here and I'm going to ask her to try and change him. She's always like just hold him down....either I'm totally uncoordinated and weak or she has some serious skills!
I was FASTER like you with normal diapers but with pull ups i have to tear the sides rather than just unfasten and that slows me down by a valuable 10-15 seconds LOL!!! ![]()

Sorry, I don't know why he's in pull ups, but I can tell you from having a few 'Flippers' of my own that learning to change them standing up was a wonderful learned skill.
My challenge now is keeping Princess dressed. She's half potty trained...if she's running round nekkid, she'll use the potty. But if she's in a diaper, forget it. And she won't wear panties. Apparently, they're evil, and she screams blue murder until she's stripped off the offensive garment

This was me as a kid. My mom LOVES to tell nekkid aclee stories. Middle of winter and if she got me in shorts and a t-shirt, she called it a good day. She said their heating bills were through the roof. I have to tell you, I have HUGE claustrophobia issues with clothing. No turtle necks, only cotton stuff. Still don't wear socks, even in winter.

I'll change him, but you won't like how.
Give him the butt. Lay him down, straddle him with your butt facing him, and change him. Pick him up, dry his tears, tell him you love him, and THEN give him the cookie. I'm bigger than you Stormie...remember that what a tiny skinny little thing like you can't do, I can. Plus he'll be afraid of me cause he doesn't know me, so he'll behave...

This from the same child that would walk around in purple sequined high heels (play ones), matching purse, and purple bead necklace. Exclusively. She's dang lucky I didn't own a video camera back then

This from a Mom of 4...
Insist that he stay still is another thing. While I did learn to stand and change the kids (way easier, esp in public bathrooms that didn't have change tables) there is also something to be said for, "No! You need to stay still!" and firmly rolling him over and over again until he does stay put. Yes, he's gonna cry, because he's not getting his way...but I promise, he won't hate you or end up in therapy. Boundries and behaviour expectations are a good thing.

Ah this brings back memories! This was my method with my youngest. No joke. What can you do? Can't use duct tape...too messy to clean up...Can't swat the butt...way too messy to clean up! Really Storm...try this Aclee's method. It does work.

I am sorry that you are still having so much trouble. DD is getting easy most days so I feel lucky. On the difficult days I am letting her hold a book with buttons to press to make music. Not sure if E likes the music books but thought I would suggest it.
As for when Aclee comes to change E, take pics. I am sure that will be a sight. LOL |

you could hang something off you butt so he has something to play with I guess.
I'm sort of with another poster though...it's time for him to either learn to stay still when he's standing, or he gets sat on. E is SMART Storm. Tell him stand still or I'll lay you down. He'll figure out which one he prefers!
