Bedtime leaking?

A. is leaking at night and I am waking up to having to change his bed every day . I already use the Huggies night time diapers; he wets only in the front of the diaper. Any suggestions? I change him right before I lay him down and we have no problems during the day. Never had this problem with the girls, is it a boy thing????

You can try to make the diaper 'higher' on the front than the back. I've had the problem with both of mine, as they sleep on their tummy most of the time now... The only thing that has 99.9% fixed the leak issues for us is the Pampers ultra-absorbent but you can only find them at BJs... only got two leaks in the 3+ months we've been using them.

make sure his "parts" are pointing down when you diaper him at night. I found this helpful.

Okay, this will sound odd, but cloth diaper him at night. I had the same problem at about the same age with Cameron. The overnights quit working and I tried every kind of diaper, even doubling diapers. I had several people tell me to cloth and I thought they were nuts. I finally caved and tried it. He only wakes up wet maybe once every couple weeks now. And it is just his jammies, not enough to change sheets.

I use pocket diapers so I can put lots of inserts in. Let me know if you want more info.

I love cloth diapers!! I was the same way, so scared to try them but after my 2 little ones have used them I wouldn't go any other way. You can stuff them for nighttime - very helpful with boys. My son is very long waisted & I ran into the leaking as well.

Ditto the cloth!
Nothing worked for us so I tried Cloth at night. Now we full time cloth diaper because we like it so much.

For a cloth newbie that needs to solve night time leaks - try a pocket - Bum Genious are a popular choice. You can stuff it full. They have a big bum at night, but it doesn't bother them and they stay dry.

Other things you can try if you don't want to go cloth, but steal a few Ideas from the cloth world are:

Not sure what part if the country you are in. If it is cool there FLEECE is wonderful. It doesn't wick moisture so even though it may feel dampish, not every thing is soaked. Fleece sheets, fleece sleepers...

Also you can put a soaker (Cloth Diaper Cover) over the sposie diaper to help contain the leaks. There is a very simple pattern, free (if you or someone you know can sew) called Katrina's Soaker Pattern. You can google it or if you want PM me for the link. For using over sposies, make the waist band a couple inches wider. The fleece is doubled there and it really helps. Or get a wool sweater at a thrift shop, felt it (wash and dry on hot) then sew some soakers from it. These work awesome but you need to wash in the sink and add a little lanolin to work best. Not a big deal as you only have to do this every 2 weeks or so and it is easy. PM me if you want more info...
I've made soakers for freinds that have had this problem but a afraid to try cloth. They love them! We use them too if we are camping or something where we are using spoaies and I haven't had a problem.

Good Luck! (My 27 month ols boy has had the leaking issue when using a sposie now since he was about 8 months and still is an issue if we just use a sposie.)
