Tiny Red Dot on White of Eye
E woke up with small red dot (burst capillary or something?) on the white of one of his eyes. He had a pretty had knock on the head yesterday when he fell backwards off the ottoman (onto carpet but still hard) and I'm concerned. Does anyone know if this is a problem? He's acting fine and slept well.
I guess I should call doc but they aren't open yet.

I'd guess it's due to him hitting his head.
DD burst a capillary last winter when she had the flu. My uncle is a nurse and he said that happens a lot with vomiting, fever or even if they throw a really good tantrum. There's probably nothing to be concerned about but you could always call your ped just to check. |

It happened to my older son, too. He was fine...it cleared up in a few days.

He had a HUGE meltdown yesterday (twice!) I never saw him cry that hard so maybe it was that. Ok thanks!

I believe they usually clear out too. Maybe you could give your pediatrician a call to make sure?

Storm, that happened to me, too, several times when I was a kid. A couple times, it was because I was sneezing really hard; and once, it was when I threw a huge tantrum with lots of hysterical sobbing. I think it only lasted a few days. And I think it's really common... Hang in there! E is going to have lots of bumps, bruises, and scrapes for the next few years.

Dont I know it, he's already had some doozies. my mother died in a freak accident (head injury) so I'm especially paranoid about his head!
