Ok then, what do YOU want for Christmas?

I mean other than world peace and a good night's sleep.

DH usually thinks to ask me as we're getting into bed on the night of December 23rd what I'd like for Christmas. What I mostly want of course if for him to be home on Christmas Eve rather than out shopping!

So this year I put my wish list up on the fridge early (and pointed it out to DH). I'm pretty simply. I usually use Christmas as an excuse to get stuff that we (kind of) need but I put off actually buying to save money. Here's a few from my current wish list:

Freezer
Small crock pot (to replace a broken one)
Waffle maker
Latest book by Malcome Gladwell (ok, I guess we don't even kind of "need" this )

What about everyone else?

I buy myself things and wrap them up from Santa

This year I'm getting a new laptop, some books, and I"m going to take a cooking class for the fun of it.

I also bought myself a copy printer scanner but I got it in front of the kids and said it was just a gift for me from me.

Other things I'd love but I'm not going to spend the money one - clothes, more picture frames, my dinning room re-painted, my son to know exactly what his homework is everyday for a month (he gets home, has it written down but doesn't know what to do.)... and 1 night out a month without the kids for a year... I'm dreaming.

Things that I normally would not buy myself because I'd rather buy for him or her. I asked for cozy socks, pjs, a pair of boots, some jeans and a sweater.

Well, because my DH was off work for a while because of a back injury, we're not buying each other gifts...But if I could dream, this is what I'd like:

A good Blender (mine caught on fire last winter and DH threw it out into the snow)

A gift card to Barnes and Noble, and one to Starbucks so I could drink coffee while browsing for books

Tickets to Wicked

A really soft, comphy bathrobe and slippers

New cloth diapers for Ty (they are really for me, but I'm telling family they are for Ty, I'm sure he would rather have toys) I'm even asking for the expensive ones Hehe!

Slippers, but the ones I want, the dogs always eat, and they are like $50, so I think we're skipping those.

We asked for 2 new humidifiers, one for upstairs, one for down...matching tanks so they are easy to change. DH parents dropped those off already!

Play/gate yard, again it's "for" Ty, but really for me. I'm sure he would rather have free reign of everywhere...

There was other stuff, but nothing very fancy!

Oooh, love the idea of Wicked tickets! I'm crossing my fingers that we can get tickets when it comes through town in April. I'm going to see Avenue Q in December.

Anyway ... we don't actually do much for Christmas for each other. We just buy what we want throughout the year.

This year is baby-centric. Mom bought us a video camera, and we're finally getting a reverse osmosis water filter. Our city water tastes weird and is terrible quality, and we figure now that we're having a child it will be worth it to install the filter.

We wanted an Xbox 360 and Rock Band game but just couldn't justify the $400+ when we need so many more practical things.

I already bought my gift from dh...a Littman stethoscope (quite expensive but my old one I just can't hear out of anymore) and a blood pressure cuff with my name embroidered on it, a good pair of bandage scissors, a set of scrubs. With our income tax return I plan to ask for a new dishwasher.

I asked other members of the family (we draw names then tell everyone what we want) for those 3 toddler books mentioned to me in another thread here. I put "The Emotional Life of the Toddler" as my first choice; I really hope I get it!

Blessings, Michelle

I want it to snow, to eat cookies, drink coffee and talk to my dh and parents in front of the Christmas tree and glittering gifts while our son takes a nap. In other words magical peace and quiet.

I know that my wonderful family is investing in "Scooby" for Christmas (iroomba scooba).

But if I were to be really crazy and just wish for something that wasn't housework related I would wish for a big flat screen TV :-)

So, dh asked what I want, (we buy for ourselves through the year so really, we don't need anything)... but I truly want to put our profile on PP.com, that's what I want the most! Initial setup and first month online is $248.00 with discount! Then 99.00 per month (in the cheap seats).

I also want a new $300.00 zoom lens for my digital SLR, some new filter lens, a hard (pro type) camera case with room for additional lenses and attachments- but I'm not pushing my luck...

Don't know if it's wrong to state the obvious-- but all I really want is a child!
