The only thing that I really asked for was Adobe Photoshop Elements. They have it at Costco right now with a coupon for $30 off. I keep asking DH if anyone has gotten it for me.....because if not.....I am buying it for myself for Christmas while it is on sale!

I really want a good photo editing software for all those fun pictures of DD.

IT rocks...so does lightroom. Have fun with it...even DH plays with mine. Course I'm blessed to be married to a computer geek, so all I do is mention I want software and he's on it...

Honestly, I WOULD push your luck. I got all this stuff (except the hard case, I had one and didn't like it) before Ty. I honestly don't know if I would have spent the money on it afterwards. Dh calls my camera and accessories M & M. As in "Are you bringing M & M?"...a cutsy way of calling attention to the fact it's a Mini Morgage payment. Not really that mini now, it's pretty close to a full one, but before when I just had one lens and filter, it was mini

What do you have? I'm a Canon girl myself

me too, dh wants another new paint/photo/video editing program with all the plugins "bells and whistles".... UGHHHH he already has the same program in version 4,5&7, now he wants x1!!! I use 5 as it is less complicated (does all I need) than all the other versions.

I asked for one program, and DH bought, Photoshop (full version! $$), Elements, AND lightroom. When I had a hard time learning them ALL (how was I supposed to focus on one!) he went and bought something else...photo explosion, or imploding or something. I haven't even touched it yet! I start all my pics in Picasa (love the easy organization of Picasa!!) or GIMP, and only use Elements or Lightroom on about 1/2 of them.

I'm afraid to ask for more camera stuff. My bag is full and heavy and I hate hauling it around. I usually take a small bag with 2 lenses and DH gets SO mad!

Do you all have a remote? I LOVE my remote. They aren't too pricey. Speedlights are great too

I'm daydreaming of a Nikon D90. I've had a D70 for about three years. It has served me well, but he D90 is SO much better, and my old camera doesn't work as well as it used to. It just about won't work at all in automatic mode (though I mostly use manual now anyway).

I just don't know if I can justify $1,000 right now.

ETA: Oh, and I just got a remote and LOVE it!

You all are making me want a new camera! I just have a 3 year old Kodak easy share. SIGH! It does the job but is far from taking great quality pictures. I want a new one but something that spendy just isn't in the cards for this year. Perhaps next year!

I am so much lazier than you. I rarely work in manual. Missed a couple of amazing shots...I should work in manual more, I'm sure I'm losing my edge

I have the Rebel XTi. It's already outdated too. Nikon's were just too heavy for my hands. I shoot for hours and was really worried it would wear on my wrists.

Scooby was my gift but if DH feels like being nice and getting me something else I would like (one not all) -

An XFM radio for the car
TV for the kitchen
A heavy skillet so my pancakes won't stick and burn
A day at the spa

I'm a Canon Eos girl too!

Love, Love, Love my camera!!! I don't have the remote, although I've thought about it... I need some type of add on flash that will work for landscapes or people with wide output? also need another tripod- one that's not so cumsy to tote/with telescopic legs.

To edit photos, create ads or anything with graphics I use Paint Shop Pro- which I love! I have full version photo shop, but too many buttons, plus wouldn't allow me to undo 5-10 steps back only delete layers...I ddint load Photo Shop onto the new computer as it rarely was used and took up space that I could use for other programs/more photos.

YAYYYY glad to know there are more photo techies out here!

I have paint shop pro too... but the version from 8 years ago and I'm totally rusty with it.

I don't really want anything. Actually hoping dh will save money and not get me anything. I'm just bad and buy what I want during the year (not too much!) so I never really need anything at Christmas (and I got my new camera for my birthday).

Okay, seriously, what is wrong with me? Every year for Christmas...same thing...I can't think of anything that I want. Ditto my birthday.

The only things I ever want are travel and spa days. And sleep.

Some of you are so creative; I am envious!!

Slugbug, dh has a simple and small point and shot, no real bells or whstles, but it takes great photos- Nikon Coolpix 8.0 mp. w/face recognition. Colors are good, edges sharp, faces clear (sometimes too clear!). He bought it for the boat, didnt want him to take my big one out as it will be abused- bounced, dropped and possibly splashed at times. It cost around $150.00 and takes good quality photos that we send to magazines and website-quality is good enough for full cover page a couple of times.

If I were looking for a digital camera just to carry around in my pocket, this would be it!
