If you go a little further up 440 to New Bern it gets crazy cheap (usually like $.10 gallon cheaper than anyplace else). And Costco always has the cheapest price in Raleigh but I don't want to buy the membership.

My DH saw gas in town today for $1.55 (we're in Alabama). The news keeps saying this is bad news and deflation and all, but I can't help loving it! Besides, if we're spending less on gas, we should have more money left to spend on other consumer goods, Christmas presents, etc.
My sister bought her car in 2005, and her first tank of gas cost $23. Last week she filled up for $20, so gas is cheaper now than it was three years ago. So weird.

We drove through IA & NE this weekend, average was $1.79. At home in Denver today $1.53!!!!
